New car (to me)! 141,xxx miles on the chassis, maybe 500 miles on the motor (not sure).
New windshield installed, hatch struts fixed, oil change. That was the 1st weekend.
Next up is diagnosis of what appears to me to be white smoke (I have read about blue / gray), but looks mostly white to me. Not a lot, maybe 2x what normal non-problematic vehicle's exhaust would look on a very cold day, except it happens on warm days too (which I found out yesterday). No smell that I can tell, but I need a second opinion on the smell, my nose isn't the best.
The engine is a recently built 6 bolt with a 2g head according to the previous owner. I can mostly read the block VIN and it appears to be from a 1990 Mitsubishi according to DMV.org. I belive the motor to have about 500 miles on it. I have just changed the oil, belts are new, injectors good 2.3-2.5 ohms. Gas gauge doesn't work, suspect stuck float, bent arm or some other issue in passenger side sending unit. Car runs good, sometimes squeals if given any gas without some warm up time. Gas pedal sticks a bit at 0, but I found a thread or two on that.
Owner things not having coolant lines on the turbo may be something to look at. He rebuilt the turbo himself. The head was rebuilt by machine shop, so it got new seals.
My first order of business is a compression test, and maybe a leakdown when / if I can get my hands on a loaner kit (or maybe I'll buy one). After compression test, I'll update and go from there. If anyone has any other quick things to check, I'll tick them off as I have time.
