1995 Eclipse GS 2.0

OK I got a eclipse GS so I can get into the DSM fun. Its a 1995 and its got an odd idle and rough turn off and I wanted to see what you pro DSM ppl think it might be.


The car has 142K miles and I am just starting to fix it up. When you start it it idles perfect for a few seconds around 1K RPM then after that it drops to about 750 and idles like its got a nastier cam in it. Like a big block chug. roughly 2 chugs per second. Also when you turn it off it turns off kinda hard but its not quite a knock... Any info would be great I can give more info if you need.

maybe a bad o2 sensor.

changed out the O2 sensor...

Changed the PCV valve...


checked/replaced all vaccum lines...


still sounds like a big block and shuts off hard..

any ideas?

<p>Compression was #1 175 #2 180 #3 200 #4 180

<p>Timing light showed perfect center for manufacturers mark except for #4.

<p>Still dont seem to find any vaccum leaks but has rough idle and runs a lil rich with rough shut off..
