1995 eagle talon esi (evo 8 swap)

I didn't know that history, haha:thumb: The evo swap also doesn't require the engine to sit any heigher than the 420a, and te 420a engine clears without issue. This swap is becoming more popular and has been done before a few times. None of then had issues with hood clearance.

The biggest problem is the axels and driveline depending on fwd or awd.

upade, ditching the 20g turbo and going with e85 and a stock evo 9 turbo

Evo 8 head done. kelford 272 and gsc valve springs. Evo 8 short block gets shipped out on monday :hellyeah:

Of course. its slowly coming together. i can't wait to finish this and drive my talon again.

This wouldn't be a issue at all bro! Not even our 2g cars need the bump in the hood for the cams to clear LOL! The 1g's did however and they had already made the hoods at the factory and didn't find out they wouldn't clear till assembly LOL. Instead of having to waste all the hoods already made they found the easiest solution, make a dent in the hood just enough for clearance. And that's exactly what they did LOL! Once the body change came for 95 they felt the hood bump fit the car and kinda was a signature for the eclipse/talon/laser and lots of people liked it. So they just kept it going for all 95-99's, but really doesn't need to be there at all and could be flat and make no difference. The o.p. could always move the hump over to the other side haha or have 2 LOL! To the o.p. get at it bro do your research get the parts and get ## done!

Funny how they could do everything else on the vehicle with perfect alignment, bending brake lines, clutch lines, fabricating plastic components for the dash, designing an entire ingition system and stout engine that could take over two times as much as it was given without breaking a sweat.. yet they still didn't fathom that the upper cam cover wouldn't clear the hood.

I'd like to see an authentic source for that story.

To OP: great work, keep at it. It'll definitely be a rare breed.

Thanks for sharing this project.
I have always felt that, in the long run, evo parts will be the source for modernizing and sustaining the DSMs hobby. Some of us are here for the long haul ;)
