Hey guys. just trying to get some answers on installing the BC cam gears into my 1995 GSX. Ive searched around and cant seem to find a definitive answer for the BC gears. Will I need to swap to a 97-99 or 1G CAS to run these? I should specify this is on a 1995 head as well.

First picture is with the cam gear off. Second is a pic from below as best as I could get it.

I sent an email to BC but I wont get an answer till monday at least. Figured everybody on here could give me better answers and faster

Well thats annoying. This little project is taking way too much time as it is. PLus i HATE de-pinning ECU plugs I have a green top CAS laying around but the wires are really hard and crusty so im hesitant to use it. But those black top CAS are expensive! Plus the degree marks on the BC cams dont line up at all...

Edit : Where would I mount the 1g CAS to the head? Theres one bolt that looks like it would work pretty well, I would need a longer bolt but it looks like its in the right place.

Stay tuned I guess so I dont F this up LOL

I took mine to the machine shop the built the motor. They drilled the gear and made the plate fit.

I think itll be easier/ cheaper to just run a green top CAS and the adapter harness from JNZ tuning.

Ive read through all the RRE instructions for doing this wiring. Originally you have ot swap the ECU pins, again this is a PITA. If I have DSMlink does the "invert cam signal" box automatically do this re-pinning for me or must I still manually swap the ecu wires?

You've still got to re-wire the CAS whether you've got ECMLink or not, inverting the signal using link corrects small misfires you might see at idle.

:dsm:

He won't have to if he gets the CAS adapter harness. It will be plug and pay for the CAS, and with link by "invert cam signal" it will switch the injectors firing order for you. So no need to pull pins by the ecu.

Thanks guys. I knew I would rewire the CAS, i will probably buy the adapter harness, ive built two engine harnesses this year and I am SICK of wiring/pinning. Plus im trying to speed this project along a little.

I was hoping thats what the inverted CAS signal did in DSMlink. If it doesn't fire thats the first place ill look.
