Okay here it is i am sending my head off to get ported and well i have hks cams 264/272 and the car was at TDC when i took the head off. cam gears lined up with the 2 inner marks perfectly lined up Intake at 9 and Ex at 3 okay so when i go to put the new camse back in there the HKS's how do i know which way they are supposed to SET in the head to aligned with TDC for the block? This is my first cam install so i have checked out the VFAQ.com but they dont say exactly how since they leave their cam gears hooked to the belt since mine are off imma at a delima
thanks for any info i can get
:talon:

The marks are on the cam gears themselves. The gears unbolt from the cams. The cams will only go on the cam gears one way (there's a dowel pin on the cams that slips into the cam gear), so the cams will still be aligned with the gears as they were originally.

I just reread your question and it seems like you may be asking more on how to know when the block is at TDC. If it is, you can turn the crank until you see the timing mark on the crank pulley line up with the TDC marking on the side.

okay i got the part about the TDC marks on the block which is kosher an i never knew or noticed that the Cams had pins on the end of them so that they would only go in one way i didnt notice that when i took the stock ones out :talon: thanks this helps alot im shooting for over closeto 400 WHP on the SBR G50trim so a ported head should get the 50trim spoolin faster
thanks
