1995-1999 wiring harness

Hi I'm new to this forum and cars with the DSM in them, but a few days ago I bought a 1995 Eclipse gs with a 5 speed manual transmission. I bought the car non running with a spark and fuel issue. The timing went out on the original motor and rather than fixing it the last owner went out and bought a motor from a 99 Eclipse. The wiring harness is pretty chopped up and messy from the last owner working on it. My question is what year engine wiring harness should I buy? Will a 1995 wiring harness work? or will I need to look for a 1999 harness? Thanks for any replies!

The 95-96 harness is different than the 97-99 harness but not by very much. Little things like the cam sensor plug and early body style options (eg coolant level sensor)
