Ive got a 1992 Eagle Talon Tsi FWD, Mitsubishi 2.0l Turbo...Just reached 200,00 miles, before i bought it the previouse owner said there was a rotten sea food smell coming from the dash, he thought something died in the heater box, but he never found anything, then i drove it for about a month, then it started skipping and a bad idle and the would stall. the last time it ran was about 2 weeks ago, i started it up to let it warm up and it ran for about 5 minutes then died, and wouldnt start back up again.
Great fuel pressure, 150psi compression all 4 cylinders, but no fire, with bosch platinum plugs and nology hot wires the spark should get to the cylinder but not this time, i can crank the motor over and hold the plug at the same time!!!
The coil pack is good but has slightly higher resistance than normal due to age =200,000 miles. Ignition module as far as i can tell is good, i havnt had the chance to test the crank sensors. but, i puled the ecu and found one really bad leaking capaciter, but i replaced all three electrolytic capaciter cans. so from here what do you guys think? Whats my problem? if i put it back to gether, will it run? Also whats the difference between a 1991 talon non turbo 2.0l head and a 1992 talon tsi 2.0l head and what would happen if i placed a ported non turbo head on a turbo block?:thumb:

yeah.. thats not happeneing.

1) check out your timing. the hydrolic tensioner could be old and wearing out so you might have skipped some teeth.

2) the differences between the heads are the cams and cam gears. other than that, from what i've read, everything else is the same.

3) when everything is up and running change over to NGK BPR6ES spark plugs and gap them to .028 - .032

I however think its your ECU because of the smell you said it had.

EDIT: damn beat me to it.
