i have come across a 92 Tsi Auto and was wondering if this would make a good drag/ autocross car? here is some things about the car in his words,"The car has all the options, power steering, power windows, and the 6bolt/4bolt combo with the rear LSD. The car has 174k on the engine but I just did a lot of maintenance to it recently. New lifters, new exhaust manifold and intake manifolds. New coolant lines, new valve cover/spark plug gasket, new spark plugs. The car runs and drives fine but will need the turbo either rebuilt or replaced soon. It still boosts fine but im just letting you know to be on the safe side." What should i look for in it befor i buy it. Oh and keep in mind its an auto.

AutoX usually requires you to be in the high-rpm range and with an auto (as I have seen it done) is more difficult to control, and maintain power. Its not a big difference its just that you have more controll with 3 pedals than you do with 2. It would be a good autoX car becuase of the AWD, and they usually throw down the best times. good luck man. :thumb:

remember, auto's have
13b=smaller turbo
390cc injectors oposed to 450's in manuals
and are quite a bit slower stock, only get it if it is a killer deal, but if you like to drive a car hard, auto's just arent as fun, and a swap is possible, so you can keep that in mind

i would be able to get it for about a grand and yes i know how to drive stick but its so hard to fing a 5 speed in my price range (which istn much because im 17) in the area

I know how it feels not having much money too. It sucks :notgood:

First off thats a lot of miles for a turbo car, I wouldn't doubt that there are other problems with the car then just the turbo. My buddy has had like 3 turbo :dsm: and :talon: that he bought for around $1000 and those cars were all crap. But thats just my opinion :cool:

Good Luck :thumb:
