1990 oil filter housing wont read my autometer gauge.

when i installed my oil filter housing and hooked everything needed to run, i ran the car and the oil pressure jumped to 100. did not move till i turned car off then it went back to zero.
anything will help.
i looked on the forums but nothing.

You could have the sender wired up incorrectly. How long did you let it run?

I've ran it for around 500 miles... I just got to make sure I got oil befor I go drive. this is a new engine and no oil pressure was what killed the last one.I meant I lost all my oil broken fitting.

Autometer oil pressure gauges are notorious for the sending units to go bad. try a new sending unit like I told you and it will work.

Electronic or manual pressure gauge? Where exactly in the OFH did you tap it?

It is electronic, and it is in the port where the oem sending unit goes.
