1990 Eprom?

I was reading posts trying to find out if I could put a 1990 turbo awd ecu in my 94 ES swapped to 1990 turbo. Anyways I found this answer out (switch wires 6 and 14). While I was researching this someone stated in one of the posts that "all 1990 ecu's are eprom". Is this true or false? I looked at the inside of my 1990 ecu and and compared to another one I looked at it does have an extra chip in it but its not the eprom chip shown on www.tmo.com I know someone has the answer im lookin for so please help. Thanks in advance for the help identifying my ecu.

IF you don't have ABS you can. You just need to swap two pins in the wiring harness and your good to go.

Thanks for the help but I already have that answer. The question I need answered is: ""Is it True or False that all 1990 ecu's are Eprom?"" I compared my ecu to another one and I do have an extra chip in mine but its not the Eprom like the one pictured here http://tmo.com/faq/glossary.htm#eprom

No, not all 90's are EPROMS I have two in my garage that have no EPROM. Very few are EPROMS and they are a bi*** to find. I was looking for about a month before I found one and it cost me 300 bones for just the stock ECU. The trader is the best place to look for them sometimes I see two or three for sale or times I dont see any for about a month. Good luck.

Ok, 90's are not all Eprom. Thanx boosted!! I still have this extra chip in mine that i dont know what it is. Is there anyone that can tell me what exact ecu I have by the numbers in or on it? Sorry I dont have a pic of it but theres gotta be someone who knows what this other chip is. Every other comp I look at has 2 chips in this area by the plugs and mine has 3. All are on there sides (thin part). With the plug-ins facing to ur right the chips run horizontally. Im just curious to know what it is. Thanks for any help.

I don't know if that information is not relevant but it does say all 90 ecu's have eprom

My 90 is non eprom, at least according to the pictures on the TMO site. I thinks its a mistake.
