Good work with the car.

Nice to see you're taking your time and making sure you get everything done correctly.

Best of luck!

Well guys a small update! I purchased my intercooler and now am just awaiting some packages. I'm hoping to buy my turbo sometime this upcoming week if everything falls into place. I also purchased all of my gaskets for the new turbo. I came across a good deal on a dejon intake pipe. I figured my turbo inlet is going to be 3 inches so it would just be more hassle to fit the stock intake tube on the 3 inch inlet. Here are some pics of the progress.

Hopefully this will keep my dipstick in the tube!

Finally got my o2 bung welded into my downpipe!

That's it for now guys! Stay tuned this thing is close to being back on the road!

Well guys I received my first package of a couple that I am waiting to arrive. It was just the first part of new gaskets and a couple miscellaneous bolts. I did a little fab work today. First, since I am going to be running the 1g VRSF FMIC kit I had to delete my overflow reservoir to make room for the FMIC piping. So I decided to go to the junkyard and get a couple reservoir caps. I then followed a video that I will post below. Basically it just uses a Monster energy drink can. The cap is almost a perfect fit for the Monster cap. I used epoxy to get the seal. When the cap is screwed on there is an air tight seal. Next I needed to find a way to create some kind of nipples on my intake pipe. First I was going to take the nipples off the stock intake tube and take them to be welded onto my Dejon intake pipe. I just didn't want to go through the trouble of finding someone to weld it all together without paying an arm and a leg to get it done. So I went to a local hardware store and bought 2 brass NPT nipple fittings. I drilled the appropriate hole for the nipples then simply screwed them in. I did use a rubber washer along with a small amount of RTV to create an air tight seal. The end result looks pretty decent and will get the job done. I did place them at an angle where they would be kind of hidden. Here are pictures. Hopefully this thing will be back on the road by next week! :thumb: :talon::talon::talon:

Heres the video! Most of you already know Jafro! LOL

Well guys I finally got 2 of 3 of my last packages that I need to get my car running. First was an o2 housing gasket then there was a coolant return line for the turbo and last was the oil cooler banjo bolt washers. The next box I recieved was my VRSF FMIC kit. After opening the box I was very pleased with the quality of the FMIC. It seemed to be a quality piece. The welds were nice and thick as well as the core being polished nicely. The only complaint I have to mention is that I hate the blue couplers. I was under the impression that you recieve black couplers when you order the kit. Oh well. :ohdamn: So if anyone else is looking to purchase this kit and doesnt want the blue couplers make sure you shoot VRSF an email saying you want black couplers. The install went very smooth. Now Im just wating for my turbo to arrive then its back on the road. :thumb::hellyeah: :talon::talon::talon:Here are some pics!

Well guys my turbo arrived today! I am extremely pleased with the quality of this turbo. Turbo Lab is a great business. I did attempt to put my car back together. One of the biggest pains was the oil and coolant lines that go on the turbo. I had the worst time trying to get the coolant return line hooked up on both ends. Another thing that I didn't expect was the little clearance between the radiator and turbo. My original OEM fans will not fit at all. I didn't think of that when purchasing all of my parts. So pretty much its all bolted together I just need some slim fans I guess. I am going to take a break from the build for a little while since I started school and my attention needs to stay in that direction. I also ran out of funds for the build. So I have to save some $$ before I can continue. Here are some pics.

Wel guys! I finally got everything together! I am very happy with the outcome and the mods will continue to come as soon as I have some more free money. Next on my list is some injectors, fuel pump, speed density kit, and a tune. I'm also hoping that in march I can get this thing painted and lowered. If things go really well I will get some new wheels also! Here are some pics of whats been going on lately.

Got the OEM fan in!

Very nice! Awesome to start with such a clean slate...

I have a 90 talon tsi awd that I recently got from a friend and need to make it move. Are the parts from a 90 eclipse interchangeable with the talon?

Hey guys! I need to post a quick update on the build. It's still rolling along and things are starting to come together. I was battling a problem with the front o2 not cycling. I tried running the narrowband simulation through DSMLink and it worked great. I now am trying to work out an issue with my DB gauge giving a different reading than my logs. I am also in the process of boost leak testing. Once that is done I will move on to verifying that all values in Link are correct. On the brighter side of things I took a trip to the junkyard with my Honda buddy. I got a mint valve cover with the upper timing cover attached from a 4g63 Hyundai Elantra for $12. I I also got a 1g PS pump from a 92 auto AWD DSM for $13. Last I got a non cruise control throttle cable from a NT 1g for free. Overall it was a good day and I will post some pics of the parts a little later. Some things that are on my current to do list are install the non cruise throttle cable, relocate battery, install PS pump and if it doesn't work rebuild it. I am really debating on painting my IC piping matte black for more of a stealthier look. I am hoping by the end of march to upgrade the fuel system. Walbro 255, FPR, and bigger injectors. I am also debating on what type of MAF setup to go with. I am also hoping to paint and lower the car at the end of march.

Hey guys! Just figured I'd post a small update. I installed my PS pump and I am so very happy to say my power steering is back and fully functional. Makes my car a lot more fun to drive. I also purchased a set of used meagan lowering springs. i couldn't pass up this deal. Next I know a couple people requested a video of my exhaust set up. There is a link to a short video I made for you guys. Once the car is at its peak of performance ill do a nice longer video. I hope this will just give you guys an idea of what it sounds like. Last is an idea of what's going to come pretty soon. I decided to do it right once and just go with the ECMTuning speed density setup. Next at the end of this month I will be purchasing my fuel components. (FP,FPR,injectors) Then I will hopefully get the car tuned. I also am planning to get a set of 3rd gen lifters and ARP head studs. Lets hope everything falls into place and by the middle of next month my car will be putting down some power!
