Why would you want 215s on a such a wide wheel? I am running 17x7 and 245/45/r17 The grip is amazing compaired to the 205/55/r17 that were on the wheels before.

You are the opposite from the OP, but just about as silly as he is. Shoving 245s onto a 7" wheel is nothing to be proud of. The poor schmuck who did the job should be proud, but not you for asking him to do it.

Maybe you guys can meet up in some random place - such as in NJ, on the border with NY - and swap tires or swap wheels BUT NOT BOTH. Heads, he gets 215 tires on 7" wheels; tails he gets the 245s on 9"s.

Note: You might need some of those offset-adding spacers that you told us about to get them to fit on the car without rubbing. Or maybe you'll need the normal spacers that move the wheel outwards.

Play nice. I'm running 245s on a 8" and if I felt like making a cash outlay a month before vacation, I'd probably nab some 235s.

Well by the words of cheech and chong 2 posts ago, ^ the calculator is a big ### fat lie? I get 8 different sizes by everyone. Think ill just buy 17x8.5 30mm offsets for 1,080 and ask a pro at a tire dealer since this is a cluster of confusion. All opinions and little facts.

Go ask a "pro", they aren't gonna be able to tell you what fits properly on your car. People with experience of trying different size wheels and tires will be able to tell you. It also has a lot to do with your suspension as well, if you can adjust your camber etc you can fit different wheels/tires.

The calculator is as close as you can get, dude.

This is what 215s on a 9 would look like... Oh my Vdub friends sooo silly, might I add he rolled the bead more then once LOL

That is sooooo cool. I retract all previous, negative comments. Plus, you can clearly get more air in a tire that's all stretched out without having to run high pressures. (Normally, as you shove in more air, pressure goes up. In this case, as you shove in more air, the tire just widens and flattens, sort of like when you watch a movie of a top-fuel dragster doing a run, but in reverse, of course, so the tire goes from tall and thin to wide and flat, instead of the other way around.)

Plus, if we've learned anything from our discussions of various shocks, we now know that a high-volume low-pressure suspension component is always best. Is there a better way to described Euro-mega-stretched than that?

Didn't think so.

Yes that is what mine looks as of now and that is why a kid wants to buy them from me. Its not the best idea to drive euro stretch style in the country and the roads here don't play nice. Anyone know a 235/40 or a 235/45 tire that's well priced somewhere online?
