Hey guys i just tuned my car with the stock turbo in it and i got 17 pounds of boost with 0 knock! Dynod at 180 horsepower and 206 pounds of torque!!!! i should be safe with 17 pounds right, do not want anything to blow.:nono: upgrades are in the profile except back to stock turbo and manifold and stock injectors.

Ya your just pushing out of the efficiency range of the stock t-25... Anything after that your blowing alot of hot air but if you go 17 lbs to work then good job...

From what I remember reading on an Eclipse Haynes Repair Manual, the stock T-25 boosts efficiently up to 16psi (or 15psi I believe, damn can't remember now). Anything after that, the wastegate releases excess boost and you'll just be blowing hot air. I wouldn't run a T-25 on 17psi for an extended period of time, wouldn't want to blow your turbo.

If you tuned it with no knock it should be ok, just take it easy after long drives or consecutive pulls that heat up the engine bay or heatsoak the intercooler. If your intake temps get too high, you'll definitely see more knock.

I would suggest you upgrade to slim fans if you haven't already done so, and for extra cooling aid, get 2-12" pusher fans in front of the radiator. That should help with keeping temps down with that big fmic.

A 12" flex-a-lite would do you good. Since you removed the ac fan, just drop in the 2-12 inchers and wire them up to be on all the time or if you want, to have them be turned on via switch, and that should be more than enough.
Matter of fact, i have slowed down the progress of my car a little to pay back a few debts, but after i get out of that, i will be ordering a fmic kit next month and at the same time i will be ordering 2-12" pushers and maybe a aluminum radiator/fan kit from PR's website at the same time.

1-2 pounds really does that much? will it hurt anything though?

For extended periods of time, yes, it does make a difference. I would turn your boost down a notch or two if you plan to drive it for a while like that. Just for safety precautions.

EDIT: By the way, If your concerned about boosting high, even with your stock T-25, then why not just upgrade to an Evo 3 16G? You'll be boosting alot higher and be much safer than pushing your T-25 to it's limits. ;)

^I hear ya bro, money is tight but it will be better than blowing your turbo, because then you'll have to dish out even more cash!

Then after I warned you not do so, you'll be like this smiley right here: :banghead: Then i'll be like this smiley right here: LOL

Trust me, you wouldn't want that, LOL... ROFL

Those T25's usually die anyways. So who cares about the slight life shortening of a couple more psi.

I would have to disagree in a way cause that's a little money we can make out of them by selling them to honda owners. 1-2 weeks worth of gas. :thumb:

Haha ROFL
Those Evo and Dodge Cummins guys are saying the exact same thing about us..

I'm also pretty sure someone else is saying the same thing about those Evo and Dodge guys too, LOL. Maybe Nissan and Toyota are talking about them (Skyline, Supra)? :p

LOL

Haha, a candle burned at both ends burns shorter, but it sure is bright! Make sure you have the money for a spare turbo though. Even the cheapest functioning 14b will in all likely hood last an exponentially longer at that boost level than your T25.

nice quote man yea i will prob save up but my main concern is the engine.

Here's the map. There's nothing wrong with 17psi of boost (2.16PR) at all, as long as the airflow is under 25lb/min. Which it probably is. Did you log the dyno run, or do you have any WOT logs with this boost? At 22.5lb/min you can run up to 21psi and still be 70% efficient if airflow is no more than 22-23lb/min. If you can't maintain this boost to redline, that's because your turbine isn't big enough to extract the energy required.

Damn that's crazy to know! OMG

I didn't know our T-25's can run that high, or at least from what I read in the Eclipse Haynes Manual. It said the max amount of boost our stock T-25 can hold efficiently is up to 16psi, then the waste gate actuator will release excess boost past that. Basically I thought any boost past 16psi will just be hot air blown out of a turbo, like a hair dryer. :p

Well is it even safe to run up to 21psi like you said, for extended periods of time or you wouldn't recommend upping the boost that high on a stock t25? :hmm:
