anybody know how safe it is to run 18 pounds of boost on my stock 6 bolt swapp?

18lbs of boost on what turbo? What kind of mods do you have. That is a very vauge question you just asked. A stock 6bolt can hold alot of boost but you need supporting mods to maintain it. If you on a stock turbo i would get a fuel pump and afc to tune.

im pretty sure it all depends on curtain mods.. a believe a completely stock gs-t is safe to run 14 lbs but if u want to run 18 you need to build up the engine to handle that higher amount of boost

 14psi and 18psi are just numbers. It doesn't say anything about airflow or heat. 15psi on a t25 is WAY less air than 10psi on an HX40 or some other large turbo.

Yes, a stock 2g fuel system can handle 15psi on the t-25, but it's not smart to turn up the boost unless you have some way to log and tune. You need to log knock (or pulled timing on the 2g), injector duty cycles, and a lot more.

If you want to talk about the heat that a turbo puts out, well... a t-25 will be blowing hot air at anything past 15psi, and will kill itself trying to do that. Ask me how I know. You'll end up getting knock like a sumbitch. A bigger turbo will be more efficient at higher boost levels, and you can get away with running +20psi on pump. The key to all of this is having a large intercooler though. :rocks:

Since you swapped a 6 bolt into your 2g, I'm assuming you went with the 14b. That turbo is capable of maxing out the stock fuel system, so get some 550's, a 190 pump, a pocketlogger and an SACF. An upgraded sidemount wouldn't hurt either. Have fun, and don't listen to the people that say "I think." You'll think your way into a blown engine.

ya sorry about that.. i only said im pretty sure cause i wasnt sure.. im new at this turbo thing but that was somethin i was told with my car.. but that all makes alot of sense.. how do u know what the best plugs are for different lbs of boost..

Generally most people running the stock levels use NGK BPR6ES, 15-18psi use BPR7ES, and above 20 use BPR8ES. I've heard of people using the non-extended tip version (BR8ES) to reduce knock. No personal experience though.

Really? I've had no problems running high boost(up to 30 PSI) on the 7's and i'm pretty sure i've seen a lot of other people doing the same. I think the 8's are better suited for those running a TON of boost and maybe even some nitrous :sneaky:
