14b oil feed line on a 2g

Probably a stupid question....but can I use the stock oil feed line from a 14b to install on my 95gst, can I use the stock one from my old t25, or do I need to go out and buy a new one? I have been told that I can reuse the stock line, but I want to make sure that I have everything ready for this weekend so I can get it all swapped in.

The stock 14b oil feed line comes from the upper passenger side of the head. Your 2g feed line comes from the oil filter housing. For you to get the 14b oil feed to work, you will have to remove the 2g line from your oil filter housing and block it off. Then remove the bolt that blocks the oil galley in your 2g head and put the 1g fitting in there.

Almost all vendors recommend running a stainless feed line fed from the oil filter housing to allow any kind of warranty.

Like BlackGSX said, you can use the line off of the head like the first gen's do but it would be better to take it from the oil filter housing, you get cleaner oil there rather than getting oil from the head and if you ever go bigger than 14b the cleaner oil might help a little. You can pick up a ss feed line for cheap from ebay or one of the vendors. Make sure when you thread it on(if you go that route) that you use some sort of thread sealer, oil leaks a a pita. hello, i am about to do a 14b swap on my 2g. i just had a question about the oil feed line. i am getting a ss line today from the shop i go to. i have heard that if you run the ss line from the turbo to the oil filter location that it builds too much oil pressure, too much for the 14b to handle, so should i run it off the head?

You wasted your money on the stainless line.

The 1G metal line from the head is what the 14B needs to survive, and it costs less than $25 from reputable vendors such as JNZ tuning.

If you run a 14B to the filter housing, you have about a 95% chance of killing it from overoiling. It may not happen right away, but it will happen.

What exactly is it that differentiates the TDO5H and T25 center sections that allows one to survive the filter housing and compromises the other. This I always wondered.

I'm not exactly sure- it could be the internal plumbing, it could be the design of the journals and how they receive oil.

I recommend only factory lines to be used when upgrading the T25 to a TD05H turbo. If I sell an upgraded turbo to a customer and it dies immediately because it was overoiled due to use of a braided stainless line from the filter housing, that voids my warranty indefinitely.
