i am new to dsm cars and i was wondering how much my stock 14b turbo can hold. i was just gonna do a front mount 650cc injectors safcII, and raise the boost between 14-19 psi. will the turbo be able to hold that much ?

The center cartridge and turbine is the same that is used and all 16Gs and even some 20Gs.

This package has held boost in the 30's without batting an eye. Of course a 14B would be horribly inefficient at that level, and you'd blow a head gasket way before you'd overboost the turbo.

Run as much boost as you can while still being able to cool the air charge enough; you're not going to run out of fuel.

I hope you know that you need something to compensate for the 650cc injectors
I would begin to look into a tuning device that has full timing/fuel control because the 1g timing curve is very aggressive and will need some modification if you plan on running 19psi.
Look at the upgrade paths on this site as well as others like Machv.com, roadraceegineering, etc. Also vfaq.com has a lot of repair tutorials as well as cheap mods!

You need to start establishing some type of goals before you just start buying stuff. Do a lot of research before you make your move!
A stock rewired fuel pump and 450cc injectors should be good for 16-17psi, no problem.

Aeromotive afprs are really nice.

thats what im getting when i get some money:)

That is what I have and love it. In any case, if you go with something different, make sure to get a "rising rate" fpr. It will have a vac line that connects to the intake to sense boost and adjust accordingly. Also, double/triple check your base fuel pressure it is different for a 2g so I don't know what it is supposed to be (someone that knows feel free to chime in).

From the factory 2g manual turbos are 43 psi.

but yes to answer the question from the OP.
Your turbo should be able to handle that much, just make sure you get a new fuel pump (and rewire it)
and afpr

yes you will still need the safc.
afpr adjusts the fuel pressure while the safc adjusts the airflow signals going to the ecu.
if the ecu thinks less air is going into the engine, it will shorter injector widths.
:)

pk thank you guys for everything you all were very helpful. if you all didnt answer there questions then i probably would have blew my motor and that would b good LOL
