14B Capabilities

I'm doing a JDM engine/tranny swap. And im not sure if the engine im getting will have the 16G turbo and yellow top injectors. So im just wondering if the 14B turbo can handle up to 17psi. Which is what im planning to run with supporting fuel mods.

A 14b Can hold around 22psi, but is more efficient at 17-18psi. So with the correct supporting mods, yes, the 14b can handle 17 psi

Im sure that anything over 20+psi is almost maxing out the 14b and just shortening the life of the turbo. With proper supporting mods there are people that have gotten the 14b deep into 12's. Good luck.

Yea you will be fine around 17psi. This turbo has brought people into the 12's as stated above with the stock sidemount. I have a buddy that was trying to get his car into 12's with a 14b and a stock sidemount up here in the rocky mountain air. He has done it all, so this is his new project. Last time I talked to him he spent 3 hours porting his 14b trying to get as much flow as possible. It was a while ago so I dont know where he is on the project.

I doubt its obtainable wtih a FWD setup w/o some mods to get it to hook up..


either way in a FWD you should be trapping about what a 12 second car traps
