1G 1200cc injectors too big?

There is such thing as too big of injectors. The injectors size deals with how long the injectors stay open. It is better to get the appropriate size the first time.

I can't say I've ever heard of injectors being "too big." As long as you have an adequate way of controlling the injectors, you will be fine no matter what size you run. You may have heard of issues with the older 1600cc injectors with DSMlink having idle problems, but FIC has fixed the issue with their new line.

I'm running FIC 1150cc injectors (older style) with DSMlink and have no problems. You can see the rest of my mods in my profile. I see around 50-60% IDC's max.

OP, I'd say go for it if it's a good deal. This way you won't have to think about upgrading the injectors for long, long time - if ever.

well. I read it on here, and I could be wrong but it was my1glaser. I know he is one of the smartest on here from reading his posts I gain a lot of good info. Im sure he could clear this up or I read something wrong.

I run 1600cc FIC injectors. soon to be with a twin fuel pump setup.

DSMLink controls the injectors very well - you do have to tune and set up the dead time properly. When I was running pump gas - the injectors responded pretty slow even with correct dead time values and caused a little hesitation. You must remember your trying to control almost 4 times the volume of fuel. the pulse width of the injector must be extremely narrow or you'll be running rich all the time.

When I switched over to E85 I've been using 20-30% more fuel which widened the injector pulse so the hesitation is much much less if not gone. Get a large injector to fully meet your goals the first time - I went from RC550s to FIC750s to PTE1000s(950s) to these FIC1600s. If you think about it - you lose money on each time you resell a used product. It would have been much more cost effective to just get the larger injector first. If you can compensate for the extra fuel with LINK or EMS then you might as well just get the bigger one.

I have 0 idle issues. on pump or E85 with this large of an injector. I also run BC280 cams - which aren't a friendly idle either. The hesitation I speak of is only in light cruise throttle probably under 20% closer to the 10% throttle range. You can tune for it - it just takes time to get it right on.

I hope this helps - You shouldn't have an issue with 1200's and Link.
