So out of 10 2g. How many do you guys think will crank walk. The reason why I'm asking this I want to buy 2g car us my 2nd car

All of them will walk, don't buy any of em.

But for real, there is no real answer, CW is really overrated and doesn't happen as much as people think.

I am so sick of people and their "any car can crankwalk". How many toyota camry's, or honda civics, 3000gt's, etc have you heard of crankwalking? 2g dsm's crankwalk, it is an issue they have. Just like gm optispark, sr20 rockers, 3000gt rod bearings. I have torn down many 2g dsm's, most of them have visible thrust wear. They might not have walked bad enough to kill the crank sensor and stop running, but they will eventually. No engine runs forever, 2g dsm's can run a long time, but a large enough percentage will have thrust issues to not be an unwarranted concern.

I've had 3 2g's over the past 2yrs and some of them clocking over 130k and so far none of mine has crankwalked. but that really doesn't mean anything..there are SO many variables that could affect(good or bad) it, theres really no real answer.

Mine spun a rod bearing at 178K. The crank had walked so much that it had almost eaten through the side of the thrust bearing into the block.

My guess would be somewhere between zero and all of them.

If you're that scared about freakin' crank walk, don't buy the car. It will make someone else a nice car.

If I were buying a 2G tomorrow, I'd honestly be more worried about one of the wheels falling off than I would be about crank walk.

^^ I think I would be more worried about the lower ball joint falling out than actual crankwalk. If you do some searching on the forum, you would know that we have a bad rep with CW, and only like 1% of cranks actually walk.

Other cars have CW, it's just in the DSM community its over exaggerated, since Mitsubishi made such a bad ass platform.
