its got 30,000 miles on it...now how much boost can i safly run on that motor with the side mount in the summer...still stay efficant

has the bottom end been sleeved at all or is the bottom end all stock and just the head modified and besides cams did the valves get done and everything. safely you should be safe running 18pounds should be i will have to talk to my buddy tomorrow. eclipse guy. 2 gst 2 gsx's. im pretty sure he will no. i would try 16 for sure and if the motor runs straight no detonation try 18 i probably would try going over that until you know everything about the motor if the bottom end was built and what not no what i mean. i to hince the name my buddy just gave me his 2g gst and all the parts some of which i am going to sell

bottom end on her is stock..just the head studs and cam and new head gasket..and on the mbc its 2 psi for every click right LOL?? and whats the stock boost for that motor its 14 psi right??

i believe it is 14 psi i dunno about the boost controller bro. the guy that gave me this 2nd gen spent the extra cash and bought the electronic boost control i just have to install it. easiest way to tell is turn it a click and monitor your boost gauge. i would probably try 16-18 pounds tho. ight bro i just got told im off work i will have to hit you up tomorrow. later

With that being said, your best bet is to look for members with similar mods and see what they are running. No 2 cars will run the same...To many variables such as drivers, health of motor, health of car in general, etc etc etc. Most of all it's more so the tune and combination of parts rather than what one specific part is rated at. BTW, Welcome to the board !

"JDM" isn't truly anything special honestly. Some may come with a 16g, and 510cc (I believe 510 maybe larger 5XX for sure though). Also a Cyclone intake manifold was used that helped the lower end of the power band.

As for boost again there is no "safe" amount that you can run. You might be able to 22psi or you might be able to run 14psi without it breaking up. Make sure it is a healthy motor and is up to par and then make sure you have a way of monitoring that (DSMLink if in fact you do have it) and start the tuning process. Whats your SN over on the link boards I'll see if I can't give you a hand. Get some logs and post them on the link board and go from there. If there is no knock then up the boost and increase the timing till you see knock and back it down a degree or so.

Again the search feature here would net you most any answer you will need. It's at the top of the page and highlighted in yellow.

whats the stock psi for a 6 bolt motor?? and any driving?launchig tips witht the gst

I have the same car.But I have a small 16g,fmic,and no cams....yet.I ran a crappy time of 14.4.I got wheel spin and a bit of hop.Full weight with street tires.Next time will be with less weight and less psi in my tires.I am running 22psi pump gas with modified evo timing and fuel maps tuned by Lucas English.I was also using NLTS if you havent tried that I highly recomend it.It's awsome.I was also shifting at 6500.

If I were the bench racing type, I'd say 9's for sure. However I'm not, so I say this thread is useless. The only way you'll ever know for sure is if you take it to the track, maybe somebody will prove me wrong.
