Hello

Was looking for some help with my 2g electrical. I’ve got the Jays alternator relocate, battery in the trunk and am running a haltech nexus S2 with an IC7 cluster. I went with the motor city 200amp Saturn alternator and am having voltage issues when sitting at a light. When I’m driving my voltage goes up to 13+ but at a light I’m down to 10-11 and it has disabled my DBW TB due to the voltage drops.

Has any advice experienced this, I’m wondering if I connect a sense wire from this to the ecu if that would help? It’s a single wire but still has the original plug location on it.

Thanks

Acdelco brand Saturn alternator with an Elite 1500 here. It is the 4 wire variant which was originally wired in as normal with the sense and excitation wires connected. I then swapped to the IC7 dash which deleted the battery light. I did not change any wiring for the alternator and I still see 14+v at 900rpm and the alternator responds to fan load etc. Give the sense wire a try and see what happens.

I personally have the MCR160 and I installed a MCR200 on my friend's 2G. They both charge at 1100 RPM. No issues on my friend's 2G, it even charges at 1000. Maybe check your grounds or feed cable. I have added a separate ground to both of them going from the alternator to the actual chassis.
