We get it. I think the issue is that what you are doing, while interesting, isn't being done in a way that sparks discussion or invites others in. I think you would experience warmer waters if your Frankenclipse was streetable. But everything looks very unprofessional - from the welds to the diamond plate panels to the tubes and wires and everything hanging and bolted every which way. It's very... Darryl and his other brother Darryl meatball mechanics. So I also get the responses coming from a group that spends time guiding others in how to correctly solve problems and get/keep these cars on the road instead of ending up in a bone yard.

Now, to be truthful, what you are doing isn't something that I could do. Nor is it something that I would attempt. It takes a mite bit of planning, ingenuity, and engineering to get all of this working in sync so it is balanced enough to drive. So props on that.

Unless incentivized there's no reason worth my while for the additional effort , cost , time , and labor to do above average non structural work . Stepping up is nothing .

Triple Engine Eclipse is on Matching Slipstream . Twin Engine Geo Metro is on matching CP22 .
 
Triple Engine Eclipse build part 67 ... Fronts same deal , one side done . Dropped 1lb rotational & 2 pounds static x2 when finished for a 6lb total . Rotors weigh approx 8lb 10oz . Aluminum calipers with hose and pads 6lbs 13oz .

Update ... Long story short , lost too much stopping power after doing smaller lighter fronts . Rears are fine and stopped good before doing fronts . If the gains were the same I'd try some brembo rear calipers as front calipers . I have one more idea that doesn't cost or seem likely working , but may end up back to the heavier bigger aluminum prior set up for the fronts and swapping the drilled rotors on now to the rears .

We aren't here to incentivize you. Not necessarily. It's far from our job to pay you or even gratify you. I mean, CONGRATULATIONS for your achievements with this build. But you voluntarily share it here, hopefully with understanding of our stone set rules and the fact that you signed absolutely no Hollywoodish Mad Max contract to receive payment or anything else besides the attention that you so desire.

One of the joys of building a custom ride is the lack of necessity for validation, or external funding for your goals. That is always respected or appreciated.

However, don't expect the utmost support for something that you can BARELY call a DSM, especially on a forum that mostly revolves around DSM's.

I'm not here to exert more negativity to someone who likely already receives a ton of it. But all in all, your combination of insinuations, insults, and pride journeys aren't tearing us up at all. I just hope the build won't tear you up at all. Nobody would like to, or admit to, the enjoyment of seeing that. I wish you the best. Both for your life and your build. Personal preference outweighs everything else obviously, but don't die to your pride or below average assembly. Please.

Update and response : The attention the Triple Engine Eclipse got would literally stop traffic just to see it move off . It is not "cool " to be a celebrity , the pressure and " eff what you got going on , stop and answer my questions on the spot " is something I had to learn and hand out a note to people telling them where to find information online . It was respectful to me and them , cause I took the time to prewrite notes , and it lets them know I get questioned alot so here's where most answers are . I'd still answer a few questions if they persisted , but most are cool and get the situation .

I'm speaking in present tense cause I took the Eclipse off the road and am now driving the Geo . The Geo prior and now isn't as big of a draw . I still have notes but blend in more . The Eclipse was to no surprise not the best on mpg . Even if I ran one engine only , I would be at a disadvantage weighing 4100lbs total . I miss the veracity of the Eclipse but the Geo's a beast too .

Brake Caliper fix update ... Prior I used smaller and lighter aluminum rear brake calipers on the Eclipse but lost alot of stopping power . That caliper type was a twist in / out style . Prior fix in the past was using bigger / heavier aluminum front calipers . That worked but now that I have more time I tried a set of push in / out style of aluminum rear calipers and that was a fix . I increased stopping power , though smaller , when using big front calipers with small solid rear rotors I need to make up a gap which reduces stopping power in itself . This mod is good for 7lbs each corner . Guessing the twist in / out type didn't work due to it possibly requiring more line pressure than what my current booster / master assembly provides . It wasn't a porportioning problem cause I tried twist type on all 4 corners . Going to install the remaining push in / out rears as fronts next , if no update all went well .

The Eclipse is a 2g which is supported on this platform . The Geo is built the same which has relate ability . You worms move the goal post with me cause you view me as a threat on too many different levels . You allow endless bashing from your users on my end but if I respond in any way that diminishes your ideologies you start modding my posts . I can rip your statement apart but why bother this is going to get canned too . Yawl dish but can't take .
 
Nobody sees you as a threat, they see your build and your responses as attracting negative participation and reactions from other members, which we then have to try and moderate, which sucks up time and resources, only to have you take issue with any moderating actions. The goal posts are not being moved. The Metro is not part of this build, so updates for it don't belong in this thread. You clearly take issue with any moderators (who volunteer their time to try and keep this place running smoothly) getting involved in your threads. It might be time to part ways.
