Had the afternoon off so I did some work dialing in my 2-step. (headphone user warning!)

Working on my 2 step also. I need more boost so maybe turn it up to 5500. IDK, but in typical DSM fashion, the starter is now deciding when it will and when it won't operate. I suspect the starter relay but didn't dig into it today. Its so humid, sweat drips off my nose just looking at shit. :hmm:✌️

In my area, you can't believe how "tropical" it is and feels because of humidity that comes up from the Gulf of AMERICA 🇺🇲 and meets the fronts that come over the Rockies and merge in our area.
This was last night.

Don't be afraid to go higher. I usually found 5700-6000 a nice spot depending on conditions.

Funny thing, the other day after doing this I noticed one of my starter bolts had backed out a good 1/2", went to tighten it....stripped LOL. Welded up the hole and redrilled/tapped it, good as new.

Thank you Jason. :thumb: That is some advice I will put to good use. I tested the starter with a remote switch and NOTHIN but a spark. DAM. :banghead:

I've never tried on a DSM starter but some starters you can flip the copper contacts in the solenoid over to get more life out of them or even get new contacts on ebay for a few dollars.

I found setting it to 4-4.5k perfect to frighten off the PITA's at meet parking lots and stoplights. :)

I need to OPEN my exhaust. I am running full 3" thru a muffler in the back but have a nonfunctioning electric dump so I need to just unbolt it or replace it. :hmm:

Magnus changed their design a little from the bearing housing that I have. Do you have the JB reinforcement brace that goes on the side of the case also? I combined them for a stout transfer case myself. Lookin good!

Hmm, makes me wonder, I just bought a second Magnus cover for my spare tcase, I should see if it's the same as the one I bought 4 years ago.

The seat belts wouldn't retract, carpet was gross, and heater core is bad. That adds up to a gut. I'll start working on the dash tonight.

I think mine is a bit older than that. Its a bit bulkier, by looks, compared to Jeremy's. I'm sure both are good. The addition of the JB case brace combined has worked good for me.

Just curious, does anyone here still have a working ABS? what year?

I’m walking full speed into a spiders den - with a flamethrower…

what I will need soon is the plug and wiring differences between the early 95’ Nippon ABS ltd wiring and the 95’ Bosch wiring - for AWD

Hey Marty! I don’t have a JB brace, I have a FF brace that Boostin didn’t want to use due to clearance/binding issues, so I just went with the Magnus side cover.

I wasn't sure how much "twisting" would be going on so I may have went overboard but I feel I did all I could to keep the case together. 😊 My 5 speed has the FF brace and my auto has the Magnus+JB Brace.

I replaced the slave on my clutch system and it has never worked better (its working my 8 leg twin disk). Now, the starter is telling me it needs looked at (I won't turn it in as a core) to see if it just needs brushes. Too hot to be out in the day so maybe during the evening I can take it off, or START taking it off. A test on the signal wire terminal only produced a spark, so I need to remove and bench test it.

Well, alot of misc stuff to remove just to get to my starter since its a TIGHT fit, but its out. I had to remove the Water/Meth nozzle and even the tiny brass plug for the NOS bung to remove the battery to get to the dam thing. It bench tests ok so, I need to check the signal wire while the starter is out and work back from there. Starter relay possibly? 🤔
Marty

I chased my ass on my 05 Evo for a similar issue. It would randomly not start. It turns out the starter wire was just slightly loose so at a certain pitch parked it wouldn’t contact enough to crank.
