Since the original batch back in 2020, FIBA Motorsport has consistently had requests to bring these back. After a long wait, we’re opening the door one more time—but this only happens if the demand is there.
What is it?
This is a Quaife-engineered quick ratio manual rack conversion for the 2G DSM.
Faster steering response
Less steering wheel input for more wheel angle
A much more direct and connected driving feel
Think EVO-style steering response, but designed to work within the 2G DSM bolt-on housing—keeping things far more cost-effective and practical.

- Ratio: 2.1 (OEM is 2.55)
- Type: Full manual rack conversion
- Manufactured by Quaife Engineering (UK) - Bought to life by FIBA Motorsport
- Designed specifically for modified 2G DSM housings
- This is about as close as you’ll get to EVO steering feel in a DSM.
*** Important – Manual Rack Considerations
These are now FULL manual racks.
Works great with smaller tire setups
With wider tires (235/245+), expect heavier steering at low speeds
Once moving, steering becomes much more manageable and responsive
If you want power assist, you will need to consider EPAS (Electric Power Steering).
EPAS Option (Power Steering Alternative)
Previously offered by Mr. Cole as a bolt-on kit for DSMs.
Estimated 2026 cost: $600–$700

Note: We do NOT currently offer an EPAS conversion kit.
*** Rebuild & Machining Options
You will have two paths:
- Option 1 – DIY / Local Build
Each rack will include precise technical drawings
- Option 2 – FIBA Motorsport Rebuild Service
- Full strip-down
- Precision bore machining on a CNC machine for the new pinion shaft
- blasting + durable coating (steel components only) on the rack housing,
- Alloy components left raw for OEM-style finish
- Full reassembly, greasing, and spec tightening
*** Optional Upgrades
- Block-off caps for unused hydraulic ports (Price TBD)
- Billet Aluminum Pinion Housing, Replaces the heavy OEM steel unit, Reduces weight, Clean, simplified appearance and Black anodized finish fully bolt on with a new sealed bearing.

Includes bulk shipping to Florida to us, duties, and insurance (at time of checking)
Does NOT include shipping to you (to be calculated later) as rack and pinion kit vs a full rebuild kit will vary on weight. insurance and value of course.

We would love to be able to get them out to you all as we have plans to do the 1G DSM MANUAL ratio rack and pinions for Power steering housings after as we know the 1.8 Manual ratios are sought after! So the 1G DSM will get some new love to!
This is not a small project—it’s a major undertaking—but one that delivers a truly unique upgrade for the DSM platform.
We’ve done this before, and we’ll do everything possible to make it as smooth and accessible as we can.
