Just purchased a bone stock 95 eclipse gsx manual. The timing belt is almost 10 years old. Should I have it towed for a timing belt replacement?

I just bought this car from a dealership and getting shipped to me soon. It's completely bone stock. Timing belt was replaced in 2016 should I not even start this car until the timing belt is replaced? I thought of driving 30 miles to a mechanic to get it replaced but don't want to risk ruining the engine.

If you don't want to risk at all, then you shouldn't at least until you confirm all the timing conponents are in good working condition. With a very old dried timing belt, the first attempt to crank is one of most risky moments that break the timing belt teeth at crank sprocket.
Maybe nothing happen and you would be able to drive it to a mechanic but it's a gamble, if you fail, it would possibly cost you a lot to repair nowadays.
It's just my opinion, it would be up to you.

I called a general mechanic and he said it'd cost about $400 in labor not including parts. I then called a DSM specialist that's kinda far away and talked to them about something else and told them I'm getting the timing belt done at a general mechanic. He said yeah general mechanics make us a lot of money because they usually mess up the timing belt. Is this true? I had my timing belt done by a general mechanic in 2010 on a different gsx I sold and I never had issues with it.
