On april 22 i worked on an aquantances car who keept bugging me to help him. I installed a fuel pump, injectors, and an afc for 60 bucks. After we were done at 1am saturday morning my buddy who helped went home and me and the driver went for a test drive. It turned out great and he got to cocky with his car and got to heavy with the gas petal. He took a turn two fast and as the cars tires leave the road thats all i can recall of that night. I almost died that night and my parents almost got to sign away the papers to donate my organs. Its still 3 months later coming up to july 22 my birthday and im still recovering. Looks like i will live to be 21 this year. This is a horrible case of high perfomance car (semi) and low performance driver. Just to show you not to drive past your cars capabilities or your capabilities as a driver. I no longer talk to the driver not that i did much in the beginning because i am angry at him. Im angry he broke my neck, covered me in scars, damaged and bruised my brain to the point of almost needing my skull drilled to remove the pressure and much more. He came out of the accident unharmed, and got out of the car ot leave me struggling upside down, bleeding, falling into the glass, screaming for help (so im told i do not remmber) to call his friends and ask them what he should do. Trying to cover his own ass instead of take responibility and call 911. Luckily or unluckily we crahsed into a house so the owners helped me and called the police.

Man I'm sorry to hear about that. I feel bad for you. Hope you recover well. Makes you wonder about drivers out there who just don't care about others and drive like morons. Yeah I believe there needs to be something done with that guy.

OMFG is right ... Yo im really glad to hear at the end of the story your are getting better and hopefully you will have a full recovery. Now let me tell you what you should IMO find that asshole and get someone to find him for you and give him a taste of what he mad you go threw. Beat the living hell out of him and then run him over and leave him there so if he's lucky enough someone can find him. I know if that was to happen to me it would have never ended there.

Hes fine enjoying his life, he has no repercusions to his actions, meanwhile i have to feel the consequences of his actions every moment of life since. I missed all my finals at CMU so my life is still at a standstill since the accident. I do however continue to work on my car and drive it. A week after the accident or maybe 2 weeks i installed a bosch 044 fuel pump in my own talon, SMIM, methonal injection, and a few other things. Though its not like what it used to be atleast it gives me something to keep my mind busy.

You will be happy to know there is pending criminal case against the driver state of michigan VS justin meldrum i dont know what he will be charged with i just recieved papers summoning me as a witness/victom and the court requesting my medical records. Its a slow process and he will probably only end with a slap on the wrists but its somehting.
I also have a pending lawsuit against his insurance company, that may slightly affect him aswell. He should pay for my pain and suffering, medical bills, the classes i will have to retake, the income i have lost as i cant work this summer, and the life he has ruined. That is also a slow process and will take years to complete

And i dont think he is on this forum, aswell as the fact that he obviously doesnt have a talon anymore, though he called me shortly after i got out of the hospital to tell me about how he wants to get another one and if i would help him build an engine. I was speechless and i no longer speak to him

why do the drivers always go unharmed? In all these tragic accidents where the driver was being irrisponsible, it seems that the passengers are always the most heavily injured. That sucks man, Im so glad to hear you made it through that one. Just goes to show you, every day could be your last because someone else wants to do something irrisponsible.

well thanks everyone maybe this will make someone on here think twice before driving to close to the limit on public roads and more importantly to me with passengers unwilling to die for your stunts

I'm glad you're ok, and hope you feel better and everything. It always scares me when I get in cars with people who try and drive fast/reckless to try and impress you or passengers. This is another piece of evidence that a very large percent of people cannot handle a vehicle at above average speeds and such. I hope you still have fun buildin your car though
