Milton,
I've had some bad things happen to me lately with my car. Just a butt load of bad luck Every week something new comes up. So I'll explain my story.

I was driving my car just the other day cruising normally when it starts to sputter, bog, and than finally shuts off. I start it back up and everything is fine, so I decide to continue driving it. A couple of seconds later it shuts right back off and I've completely lost all power in the car. I pop the hood and see that my battery terminal have melted. The negative cable melted right off of the terminal, and the positive one was very damage. I get the car towed home and right away start trying to figure out what happened. After some examination I found the problem. The two wires on the positive terminal that power up the fuse box rubbed right through the insulation and shorted. They were rubbing on the battery tray. The first thing I did was replace the battery, make up some new battery cables, and redo the two wires that went into the fuse box (securing them away from any contact with sharp objects). I also checked over the fuses and found them to be all fine. The car still right now has absolutely no power (electrical).

I was just wondering if you guys/girls could help me make a check list of things I should check over.

(1) I'm going to be going through the fuses one by one.
(2) I'm also going to test the two relays that I would think would have been damage. The ECM and Battery Relays.

Anything else?

I've already swapped in a spare working ECM I had. Thefore a fried computer is out of the question.

What do ya'll suggest?

TIA

I've never touched the ground. It's still in the factory location and was working perfectly fine before that day. Also the condition of the ground and the cable were fine.

Could you be a little more descriptive as to what your trying to say? I don't think I fully understand what your saying.

Yeah check the fuses first and report back.

I visually checked all the fuses in the fuse box under the hood and they all look fine. What I mean by visually checked them, is I pulled them out one by one, looked to see if the insides were burnt or if the little connector thingy (I forgot the name) inside the fuse had cracked/popped. Everything checked out fine. I did not check the fuse box under the dash though.

Also, I checked the ECM relay and the battery relay by powering them up the way shown in the manual and they both clicked. I also checked all the other relays in the fuse/relay box and they all clicked. I still haven't checked the continuity of the relays. I'm waiting on my brother to drop off my multimeter.
