Hello everyone, I recently had my clutch fail on me and after spending a good portion of yesterday reading opinions on budget clutches sold on ebay I believe I will order the xtd stage 4 setup with flywheel. My question is, will I need to have the flywheel stepped or should it be good to go as is? Also I have read that the center portion of aftermarket flywheels is thicker so will I be able to reuse the stock 2g flywheel bolts with loctite red? If not will the 1g flywheel bolts work due to their extra length? I'm not sure if anyone has the awnsers but I would love to know, thanks!

I just installed the xtd stage 4, only have 100 miles on it, but so far so good... Stock bolts are fine and I always use lock trite on them... If your concerned about the step height just measure it before you install it, if you don't have the tools I'm sure any machine shop would do it for next to nothing.

There's how to check it, or to make sure the shop knows how

So I just got done with the clutch but left my laptop in my girlfriends car so no driving today... I noticed a few odd things that have me worried, first off with the car off the gears feel notch and somtimes don't want to go in unless the clutch is all the way in. That doesn't seem normal shouldn't it slide in and out of gears smooth if the car is off? It did sit with no fluid for 2 weeks so I'm unsure if that has anything to do but its got me worried, tommorow ill know for sure though.

Did you remember to put the rubber washers on the outside of the shift cables on the transmission linkage? It could just be play in the cables.

Update: After a 500 mile break in, the last 100 miles has been fun....no slipping, grabs nice, feels good for my DD (2300lb pp). As of right now I would recommend it, Ill update if I ever have any problems but as long as you use an oem tob and break it in properly we should all be able to share the same level of success.....SHOULD is key as I know there's always the defective few LOL

Bringing up a little old thread, Iv had this xtd stage 4 clutch kit and flywheel sitting under my bed for the last 5 months, waiting for my old ebay f1 racing clutch to go out to install this one. THIS WEEKEND GONA SWAP IT IN. Ill keep updates if anyone's interested. Hope it can handle my hx35 at 25 psi :)
