so im looking to buy a XTD stage 4 clutch & fidanza flywheel this weekend and just wanted to get some input , should i get arp bolts or new oem? i have a new oem tob..... new pivot ball? fork? is there anyone running this exact setup? is there anything i should do or get for this setup? warnings , advise ? it is a street / strip car and im looking to make around 400whp soon after a few upgrades when im done breaking in my new motor ( parts in profile )

im not worried about it being real stiff,..iv just read to many threads about springs failing , so im trying to avoid that problem , i drive my car hard, well not right now.... , but it will see some track use and i dont want to deal with any slipping , and i'v heard good things about the XTD stage 4.

stage 4 pressure plate with a stage 3 sprung disk, ARP bolts are for parts you don't want coming apart due to a huge amount of stress. I have the combo I mentioned for now and it is fine with no issues. The flywheel in the other hand gave me a few issues so here goes, I week after torque and install the bolts backed out and the flywheel just span:notgood:, so I ordered FP's long bolt kit(do it now) and that Beetch stayed on. One monday went to start car after work and heard that same flywheel unbolted sound(starter spins flywheel but has no contact with motor)and no start, I sent it to my mechanic who discovered my ring gear bolts had broken offWTF, I fixed it but still ordered a street lite just incase. THis is my Odyssey yours will be different

Yep for now, If I had the long bolt kit from the beginning then I wouldn't have the first problem, as far as the second i'm going to say S**t happens and I ended up with the crappy one of the bunch. I can tell you that it works great and the combo is nice.

you are pretty far from your intended goal of 400hp.

why do you say that? with a little bigger turbo and fuel and tuned on a dyno i dont see why not, iv seen people do it with less on stock internals..... Jrohner did it on a 16g and im not far off from his setup,..... as for chatter i can deal with that, just have to get the rpms up a little more when going, its slipping that drives me nuts....but thanx for the heads up...:thumb:

My Fidanza 4.3 is still work fine and I've made numerous runs with my 500hp+ car so until I takes a shit on me it still works great.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's not that easy to get 400hp+ on a 16g. You'll need someone that's superb in tuning DSM to get it at that level and it's more difficult to do it on an AFC tricking out the computer.

You do know we are talking about a Fidanza flywheel and xtd clutch, not to different clutch kits.

Everyone knows its a hassle to get there but that doesn't mean you should S**t on the mans goal. Do all upgrades with the thought in your mind that will go bigger if you can't reach your goal, as in 255 with AFPR instead of 190, 880's instead of 550 or 680s, e.t.c. That way if you come close to your go and can't reach it, you can simply upgrade the turbo to something bigger and that would be that.

My STage 4 never gave me any problems and I drove it on the street on my old 1g. My goals didn't really alow me to go with a stage 3 disk(which I have also ran) because at the time I was aiming for 600whp with my GT14 setup. I reused the stock bolts and just torqued them down to spec plus a little bit to be sure and never had any problems.

I drive an unsprung puck disk on the street. People who complain about it can't operate it properly. The engagement window is very small, but i have 0 issues with mine. I also run high boost on e-85, so a street disk isn't an option. There comes a point where you have to start buying parts for your performance, and durability goals first, and comfort second anyway. I had a street disk an act 2600 pp, it was garbage. After one 20 psi studderbox launch, it slipped all of the way down the track. Jack from jacks transmission recommends unsprung puck disks. If you want daily driveability you're going to give up some time at the track.

I'm wanting to know about the stage 4 with a fidanza flywheel as will because i plan on using this set up when i put my motor back in my car...

im ordering it right now, so ill let you know how it feels when i get it installed in the next couple weeks....

I have a Stage 4 XTD with 6 puck unsprung disk. Stock flywheel and all I added was a extension rod for the slave. Its hard and not hard. It grabs great, not much extra pedal pressure from stock and its a lot less stress than my ACT 2100 in my gsx. I think the stage 4 was worth the money, I have 1400 miles on it, and I reused my old bolts and resused my old TOB LOL.

so i got the clutch and flywheel in yesterday and the clutch feels good exept it is releasing almost right off the floor and we tried adjusting the pedal a few diferent ways and nothing, is it sposed to release that close to the floor? it kept stalling on me too if i take it out of gear over like 2000rpm...is this normal? i do have 272 cams but i cant tell were im idling because i think my ISC is bad, it wont stay in one place, goes back and forth between 800 and 1400.... more than likely the cause for the stalling but just thought id ask......but anyways the clutch is strong and there was no slipping atol ! pedal feels good too, not to stiff but deffinetly stiffer than stock. oh and i havent had any chatter either !

is this clutch kit "plug and play" or is there extra stuff ill need to get and install once the clutch is in the car. I have a 95 awd and am running a 14b right now but will be upgrading to evo 3 in a few months. Should i go with a stage 3 or 4? And also should i go light weight flywheel. I have one that i can get for cheap but want to know if it is a good idea at this point

i like this setup alot... i got a the clutch kit a fidanza aluminum flywheel, SS clutch line, FP long bolt kit and a new pivot ball ,people said it wouldent be easy to drive it on the street but its really not to bad , just gotta get a feel for it...i would recomend the stage 4 if your going 16g , but no more than around 500 ft-lbs of torque .....i was pushing 20lbs of boost today outta my 14b ( on accident, MBC set to high ) and that clutch grabbed every bit of power.

First off a 16g with 500ft/lbs would be an animal and make atleast 550whp which is rare. Second I ran my. Stage 4 with a GT14 from SBR @ 25psi for months with no problems. This is back when ii street raced and the car was beat on just about every weekend too.
