Winnipeg,
I just finished installing my long route fmic kit and since I can't use the metal bumper (crash beam or whatever its called)the bumper is only held on by 4 bolts on the side by the tires. It seems ok for now but I don't trust the bumper held on like this since there is no support for it in the middle.

What have you 1g guys done to bolt the bumper back on with this kit?

Thanks Axe

Ok this is a little wierd, I put the magnet on the piping and it stuck. SS right? But I notice at about the last 6 inch's of each pipe the metal is NOT magnetic!!!! WTF Why would it do this?

Yea im going to through a magnet on my piping tonight to see what it is, since alluminum is not magnetic

A magnet wont stick to stainless steel either.

i have the exact kit and and it is great. i left the hood latch support on and used the three bolts in the middle and the two on bouth sides and it is quite sturdy other than the bottom lip on the bumper so i am going to put the stock steal plate on it and get some bars to go back under the intercooler and tap into the radiator support and then i think it will be very sturdy. to anyone looking into buying it i love it, it looks great and ads lots of power especially top end and east to install and you dont have to remove ac or power stearing cooler or any of that stuff only fog lights ### there is no way they will fit. i had to bent some of the little pipes in front of the radiator and trim the bumper and that is it. oh and one more tip when you trim the bumper get one of those little saw blades for a dremel not a disk ### i had a disk and it melts it a little bit and makes very toxic smoke and i ended up outside with a gas mask and goggles on.

i cut the stock flang off and ground it witch is steel and a magnent will stick to. the bov flange on the pipe is cast i think and a magnant will also stick. bouth welded good together

i used the exact same intercooler, with a customer piping setup, i cut both sides of the bumper cover off. i built a bracket setup that supported the intercooler from underneath to the frame, then attached 2 hangers for that bracket to the front frame. then the bumber basically rests on top of that, and then put 2 bolts on the sides in the factory spot.
i have pictures i just dont have them uploaded just yet.
actually worked out really well.

What I do:

Don't ditch the crash bumper completely. Use a torch and cut out the center portion of it, so that youre left with two stubs that come out of the rad support. They should have 2 bolt holes each on top of them when cut in this manner. Then just bolt the bumper cover on, you know have 8 bolt holes to do it. For more rigidity, include the stock metal plate that goes across the bumper cover top with a couple of sheetmetal screws (zipties, glue, whatever) holding it to the bumper cover.

Has anyone tried linking this kit with their dejontool uicp yet? This is my current project.

Yes ive adapted it to my dejon uicp, what i did was i had a friend cut the tapered part(the reduced section where it goes smaller from 2.5inches) of the uicp off ( the part that goes down into the hole in the car body to hook up to the stock sidemount), he removed the tapered part and welded a straight 2.5in pipe on the end of the uicp (approx. 3 1/2-4inches long) and then connected it to the piping of the ebay front mount. i didnt use the supplied uicp that came with the kit.

i have the same intercooler, i used short routing, i took the output side of the turbo to the drivers side of the intercooler, and then the passenger side through the inner fender and up to the throttle body.
it worked good, and the bumber fits on and basically rested on the intercooler, then i bolted it back up on each side.....ill find some pictures somewhere and post them.

the front picture on my cardomain site shows the intercooler through the opening.....fits like a glove. now it may be different depending on car....mine is a galant as you can tell

ill add more pictures on page 1.
just remembered that i put the best picture on my gallery here.
