XS Power FMIC my way

I didn't like the way this FMIC mounted as shown in the articles here. So I decided to shrt route it using the pipes that came with the kit. I actually had enough piping left to make a CAI but decided to scrap that because it was 2 1/2 going into a 3" inlet into the 57 trim. Like it?

I had to cut some of the pipes and order some transition hoses. I also had to relocate the coolant resevoir and zip tied it to the plastic cover for the passenger side wheel. The BOV ended up kind of low but still a very good place; just not where it is usually placed. Kind of original I think!

for what? to see if the custom cold air intake setup helps? i'm sure it does based on past custom cold air intake setups/scoops, but there is nothing wrong with the fmic pipe routing from what i see. This kit is <$290 shipped brand new.

The only thing which is a downside is what someone mentions, the silicone couplers/reducers and what not. Those things are not cheap. And how hard the extra labor is.

i had to get a a few silicone , but i had to get some anyway bc of the turbo and tb inlet adapter. i got them here www.racepartsolution.com not bad prices.

BTW: i retained the PS, AC, ABS

That's more silicone then Pam Anderson's left breast!

Not a bad solution though. Just make sure those couplers don't rub anywhere. Vibration will quickly put a tear in them.

Well the lower ic pipe on the drivers side and the upic were rubbing against the metal but a littlle rubber piece attached to the body with self tapping screws took care of that.

i'll take better pics of those areas, but all i had was my cellphone camera to take tha pics u see above.

(excuse my typing but i had surgey and the drugs are kiling me and one hand typing)

jajaja! thanks...

i forgot to mention i had to cut the little tow ear or what ever is called to fit the lower ic pipe. I actually had to cut the ear plus a little quarter moon above it.

Now THATS what I'm talking about. That looks nice and it doesn't take up the whole front of the car. How much did that cost to set up? Those ic pipes dont' look like anything XS makes.

Thanx. The intercooler is from ebay and the pipes I got off a guy from DSM Tuners who was parting out I painted em black to give it a stealth look. It took me about 2 days to get the whole setup done with the help of a hacksaw.
