On way home from work last night car lost about half its electric power. I woke up and checked terminals. One was a tiny bit loose so i tightened it. Then drove to store down the road and the door locks dont work, windows dont work, dome lights and stereo also non functional. For some reason the abs light was blinking also. If anyone can give me some advice i would appreciate it for sure. What a christmas uuuuggghhhh. Oh and the car starts up perfect every time.

Sounds like a possible loose ground/ power issue. Do you have access to a service manual to see what common grounds/power supplies they may share? Also couldn't hurt to check fuses, mabe somthing blew from the issue the night before.

i use an old car audio trick for better charging on anything i own. ESPESCIALY my gst.

ive attached a couple pictures

i have 3 4ga grounds one attached to my throttle body ,one attached to my starter bolt, and one attached to my shell { fire wall}

i then ran a 2/0ga cable from my alternator , left the factory alternator cable, ran a 2/0ga to my starter hot lead, and use 16ga for my alarm and remote system.

electrical can be a nightmare on these so i just went ahead and ran all those cables the day i got the car :)
i did this because it wouldnt always start when i got it... youd have to turn like 3-4 times then the starter would engage.... never had ahn electrical issue since! { other than leaving my alarm cable off after i worked on my transmission so it wouldnt attempt to start untill i connected it again.

hope it helps!

ill add , i know your car starts fine... but the electrical was weak on them i mean cammon..... a f***ing 8 gauge charging cable? really dsm?!?!?!

Thanks for the advice guys. I checked fuses and nothing bad there. I noticed one of the wires from my positive terminal was touching the bundle that runs to fusebox. I pulled them apart and tightened them down. Then wrapped with electrical tape. PROBLEM SOLVED! Car is back to perfect running order. Its always the little things. Thanks again merry christmas!

Ahhhh see that makes sense! I figured it had to have been a loose or shorted ground/power issue from what you were describing. Glad it's sorted out now!
