hey guys. ive found myself in quite the scenario today. so i currently own a 3g eclipse along with my 2g talon. the eclipse is a 2004 gts that i am financing so i can establish some sort of credit. well about 8 months ago i hit a minor bump and couldnt afford the payments along with the insurance, so i decided to sub-lease it to someone. after a month of getting to know this woman on cl i decided that she was trustworthy and could handle the payments. everything has been going smoothly, payments were made and such. today i was met by 4 detectives who informed me that my vehicle (eclipse) was spotted at several locations where cars were stolen. at first they assumed i was boosting cars
.. but after explaining things with them they started putting two and two together. i described the girl whos driving the car along with her boyfriend. her boyfriend is apparently a prime suspect to the thefts and she might have been seen as an accessory. now if they are arrested and my car gets impounded the detective will notify me so i can pick the car up. now i have a contract i wrote up with her and im pretty sure i can back out of it. one of the stipulations was that she was to uphold the state minimum insurance, title, and registration requirements. well the title has my name on it.. not hers.. and the registration is also in my name. i think this is a good enough loop hole for me. do you guys think i should wait for the investigation to be pursued more before taking my car back or what? im really upset about the situation and i dont want to deal with dangerous criminals attacking me or vandalizing my car.
thanks for reading.
