Should I do it?

Ok, I have a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse; the only bad thing about it is that it is the 1.8L model. So I mean it is slow. I was wondering how hard would it be to stick a 1G 4G63T in it and still keep it FWD. Would it be too much of a hassle or should I try it? I have the money to do it, I just want to get some opinions. Oh, would my transmission work or would I have to get a new FWD turbo transmission. I figure that the 4G63T transmissions are built better. Thanks.

you would be better off to buy a tsi fwd, but yes it can be done along with the motor and trans you will need an ecu, and some other odds and neds to button everything up, for the price of a good used 4g63t and trans you could sell that 1.8 take the money you have now and buy a tsi fwd they are easy to find and cheap. dont get me worong i love wrenching but i would rather buy one than do a swap.

i agree.. save yourself the hassle and sell your car and just find a fwd turbo. you'll thank yourself later.
