I just bought a 98 eclipse gst:sneaky: with A 6 bolt swap and that's all that's done to it , oh and a greddy BOV , I've read for hours on here and found a lot of info but I need to know step by step so I do it right.. Any help would b great on what parts are needed to hit 3-380 hp thanks!

This should be listed everywhere sence alot of people ask how to get around that hp range. A walbro 255 fuel pump, 3 inch exhaust, front mount intercooler, something to tune with I think safc should not be recommended anymore but hey if you want cheap horsepower by all means you can get one. I think you should atleast get ecmlink v3 lite, full version if you can put out an extra $100. Now with safc don't run bigger then 650cc injectors and with ecmlink you might as well just get 750cc to 1000cc injectors, running bigger then those on pump gas tend to run all that good and that is way more then enough injectors those should work for alot of setups on pump gas. Now the next choice is up to you, the stock 2g o2 housing and exhaust manifold are great and will be fine for your power goal. You can always port them or get evo3 manifold or the famous fp exhaust manifold. Always of course is a boost gauge, boost controller, and wideband. The 16g turbo is ganna be in your power range for 300+whp honestly anything bigger then a 16g brings lag and a big price tag. Those things alone will be a chuck of change atleast start with that plus there are always alternative fuel like race gas and e85 that will help make your hp number your looking for. If your auto trans then an aftermarket trans cooler is a nice upgrade stock auto trans can suprize alot of people of they give them a shot, and of course 5 speed you will need an aftermarket clutch to hold the power. Also a nice set of 272 cams will get you on your way. Just start with those and make sure your maintenance is done because you can't go fast I'd your ride is broken. You can look at alot of people's profile and see what parts they have and also see there track times or horsepower dynod to give you an idea too. Have fun let me know how it goes for you, there are tons of venders to sell parts I know it's hard to choose stuff like what front mount intercooler do I get or what exhaust to get? Well for now any are really good just shop for what you can afford its not like it's ganna be bad, just be cautious don't be trying to buy up all eBay junk cheaply made and wonder why your car is broken. Now go shopping hit some research and review and get to boostin!

300-350 is pretty easily obtainable on pump gas. with e85 your dumping +/-33% more fuel into the engine but your getting a lot of power in return. only downside is your filling up more often so it's not really "saving" money on gas.

While this is true, you left out one key detail. To achieve the same octane rating you'd need to spend a lot more on race gas than E85. Of course when you compare it to premium (91, 93, 96 octane depending where you live) it can be cheaper, but with it getting 33% less gas mileage it ends up being roughly the same cost per mile.

Comparing the cost per mile of E85 to equal octane rated race gas you'd be spending a hell of a lot more on the race gas.

Thank you guys I had a 95 RS and it ran like crap! But I love dsm!! Now is all this stuff u guys are naming legal can I still get smog checked??

Clipto thank you for spending ## time and writing all that :hellyeah:

Also where can I buy all these parts I've looked everywhere and idont know if its a knock off or the real thing
Rev limiter.. are those needed? If so does it hit that limiter on every gear? Ino it sounds stupid but just asking:D

Well there is always craigslist and you can always post pics of the product on the forums so we can check it out for you. there are local venders like punishment racing, vrspeed factory an many others that sell front mount intercooler kits for like $300 dollars. also you can shop intue classifieds for deals on exhausts, turbos, and many other miscellaneous stuff.

AMEN.. hey nice lookin car by the way :)

Well before a few months my car was sock shocks and height. I went out and got Megan lowering springs and new kyb struts. my camber in front is -1.8 and rear is -2.8. My tires are riding on the inside real bad and I haven't had them on that long. Yea I am getting the camber kits all done next week and definitely say if you o with lowering springs anything as low as 1.75 drop like mine exspect to pay for some extra parts or deal with nasty tire wear from camber. Dependibg on your funds I would do some research on what u can afford and review all the pros and cons of which lowering or coilovers setup to go with. All I can say is the $100 lowering springs cost me $500 in camber parts alighnment and installation. now if you have a 1g it's alot cheaper for camber plots then 2g, if only I could of found a 1 but Iove my 2g too much.

I cheated and threw down on my les schwab account for the camber kit and install w/ alignment, cost me $550 for front and back. The 1g's are cheaper becuase they just usecheapo camber bolts lucky punks.

The OP already has a flashable ECU more then likely...

While I don't recommend using a SAFC either... I also don't recommend people to use something that would require buying a 200+ Ecu and $400+ Software/harware to tune.

When they(or someone else for them) Could achieve the same results for a 1/3 of the price with something they already have. ECMlink is a great product that I highly recommend... But, not the end all of tuning systems.

As far as suspention and Koni's Take a look around HERE & Here for starters Tons of good info on there to look at... .

Tis true he does have the black box ecu, as much as I love ecmlink over many other peoples flashable software it still is a legit way to go and will save alot of money for tuning. As I stated in my post's I not trying to recommend the most exspensive stuff I was just throwing ideas out there as some people have money and some don't. I prefere to do it all once and if I spend a little money I know I am ganna have a good car. As for throwing any bolt on part like new turbo injectors whatever on it you want but without a good tune it's ganna be not what all the stuff you put on it worth in power. But anyways get what you want there's tons of options out there now just get on some research and ask question's what a good way to go? Or is this a good deal?

Am I the only one that gets the impression this car isn't going to last very long and we're going to be one more beautiful 2g short in this world?

I understand there are people who are noobs to cars but with the red information provided within the quotes, I don't have high hopes for this car at all... If you had a previous RS that didn't run well, sounds like you didn't do general maintenance to make sure the engine could handle things before modding. If you're concerned with the rev limiter and not other things like if the clutch can hold things together/ traction/ fuel delivery/ and things generally going "clink* clink* boom" being chewed up by the metal monster under the hood then you've got other things to worry about. And more importantly, if you don't know anything about ECMLink or tuning, even in the event you get all the parts together, it won't last long because of a rich/lean/knock condition.

Just my .02. I wish you and the car luck my friend

Look not everyone knows what to do right wen they get into this kind of stuff ya I didn't know ro do any maintenance on my RS I didnt know shit but since I've been on these helpful forums I've learned a lot especially with maintenance which is the first thing I am going to do:thumb: I'm not gunna make another mistake that's kinda why I'm asking for help it's just the esm link I'm confused on:ohdamn:
