Okay so I've recently been considering trading my DSM...
For two DSM's. :thumb:
I just want some input on whether or not you guys would make this trade.
**I will be getting both cars for mine**
My car: Turbo 2G DSM For Trade

The potential trade cars:
First is a CW'd 2g gsx, and second is a running/driving 1g fwd.
95 eclipse gsx/tons of mods
I attached pics of the 1g. All stock, auto.

In this deal i will be getting both of those cars, and the plan would be to swap the 6 bolt into the gsx. Would the rods/pistons from the 7bolt be interchangeable with the 6 bolt?

LMK what you guys think. I'm leaning toward doing this deal.

trade your car for either one of them ? unless your getting some good cash on top of it i wouldnt. that interior alone on the 1g made me puke a little bit.

only because youd be going fwd to awd it may be worth it-- but you have alot of parts in your car now... may want to try and keep as much as possible

I will be getting both cars for mine in the trade.
Edited my post to make that clear. ;)

yes pistons and rods are interchangeable, its alot of money though to built and swap in a 6bolt. I went with a modified 7bolt from overbore.com that is guaranteed not to walk and just had them bore, balance, and build it with forged internals.

Seen this post on CL the other day, thought about responding...decided not to.
With your mods, you might want to get a little on top if possible. I guess the true answer here is, is it worth it to you, because at the end of the day you will be the one with a cw'd gsx and a 1g fwd.

Well I have access to a cheap 7bolt long block that i could swap into it. Shouldnt be too hard.

on that second link to the black 2g.. he says he has a 6 bolt ready to go in the car, but he states that is is a running motor still in a 93 talon which would be a 7 bolt..odviously.. i would talk to the guy and make sure you know what your getting into (wether or not it is a 6 bolt or the eraly 7 bolt.

That is a very good point. I'll just have to go check out the car, its only a half hour away.

Or you could do the trade, and immediately sell the 1g for a few thousand and use that money to build a 6 bolt for the AWD.

Honestly, the fact that you would be getting an Eclipse body would be worth alot to me, I really dislike the 2g Talon look.

Yeah, I'd trade if you're looking for a project. Make sure the 93 has a 6 bolt in it. If he already has forged internals in the 7 bolt, see how bad it crankwalked. Maybe it just needs new thrust bearings. Undo the rod caps and mains, drop the crank out and get it checked, check the block, and if it's all good, just put new bearings in and go.
