Ok over the past few weeks I been slowly doing a BSE to my car. Yesterday I had a chance to work on it more so I took the rod caps off and heres how my bearings look. They are still smooth to the touch( i didnt feel any roughness at all) I asked a few other car buddys of mine some professional some not. They all said they should be fine just looks like they been heated up a bit. What is your guys thoughts.

those dont look scored at all. If I can find the pics I have, I can show you some scored RB LOL. You should be fine to reuse, but wouldnt it be smart to just place them anyway?

looks overheated. If you can't feel scoring with a fingernail then it isn't there but the metal has changed since it was heated past the point of no return. It's not going to last long and why would anyone reuse main bearings? They're cheap insurance to replace just plastigauge and measure.

Yea I was thinking of replacing them. Im not going with acl or nething like that. Im on such a extreme budget since I dont work I found a set for 25 Im loking to get. I should be fine with slaping new standard and some assy lube right? Also the front center BS bearing is the only bearig Ill have to replace/plug correct?

40 aint bad I can do 40 LOL. Will I wont be doing alot more to the car til after th 14th. so Ill keep a update up because I will be doing little by little till then. Since the rods bearings look lie that the mains are ###### the same. Since I cant pull the motor I should be ok leaving them alone
