One question: What's the race weight of this car?

Ive asked this many times. Never got an answer, but my speed power calculator says it is around 2400lbs based on the ET, and 2000lbs based on the mph, and the 650hp the dyno graph shows.
 
Phil might be able to do roll cages and what not, but his guys suck at painting. I would never ever recommend them for body work.
 
Well it was Devin DD before it got into that accident but I pretty sure the whole changed when he put in a roll cage this time around.

Nope, he still drives it to and from work. Only on nice days of course! LOL Which is about 45-50 miles round trip.

was this strictly modified"s car that did a 9.5 last year?

I can definitely see why everyone thinks this was a SM car, but it's my personal car. I worked for SM as their engine tuner and as a tech. I just promoted the hell out of SM, but 100% of this car was built, tuned, driven, and financed by myself. BTW I work at Boomba Racing now.

The 650 was on 41 psi, the 8.98 pass was on 45 psi so I would say its was about 700 hp on that 8.98 pass. So 700 hp but thats on a mustang dyno. If it were a DynoJet, it would be closer to 800 hp. So if you put 800 in your equation your result would be much different.

The car weights 2640 without me in it, so 2820 with me strapped in ready to go.

Phil might be able to do roll cages and what not, but his guys suck at painting. I would never ever recommend them for body work.

The paint turned out amazing on my car, so I would definitely recommend him.

the c clip broke off the intermediate shaft allowing the 1st/2nd gear assembly to push off the intermediate shaft. That put all the stress on the intermediate shaft bearing race. The bearing race then pushed right though the case (the middle one).

It shifted like butter until it broke! Its on its way back to Shep. Cant wait to get it back.

Simply Amazing!! Great work mixed with perfect driving. Just curious what kind of drivetrain setup he is running. I see its going back to Shep - dogbox? Also clutch and flywheel setup on this monster as a DD?

The trans is a stage 4, using evo 3 1st / 3rd / 4th with a evo 3 final drive. I wish I had the money for a dogbox! The stage 4 will have to do for now, but thats whats holding me back at this point. Im using a off the self QuarterMaster TwinDisk clutch.

Mad props dude, that's just an insane mph for that setup. Would you mind telling me what kind of cams you're running?

On the clutch note i hope you guys have seen the disc hub mod thread on EvoM if not check it out :thumb:

how many passes do you get out of that twin disc? i have the same clutch juss curious.

Ive had really good luck with the QM clutches. When I was going 11.00's and 10.98 on my 16g I had over 45 passes on the clutch and drove the car every day. It lasted me all year

Its all about you driving style, Ive seen some customers back in a couple of weeks just after a brand new QM clutch install.

If you do not mind me asking you have a vid of this? Mods when you ran 16g? Never seen a 2g awd go that fast on a 16g!

I also thought I would give you guys an update on the car. As you know I broke the trans, so I put a stock 2g trans in for now so I can cruise the car / drive it to work. I also had to change out the evo 3 rear end and replace it with a stock 2g rear end to match the final drive in the trans. Did it all in my 1 car garage, just like old times and like most of you guys!

While I'm waiting for the trans to come back I'm quenching my racing needs with some TA in my Evo IX (my fiance's daily). Ill be at the Redline TA event next weekend at the Autobahn in Joliet June 12-13. Hope to see some of you guys there!

Last year I got 75 or so passes out of the trans before it let loose, this year it only made it 15 or so passes:ohdamn:

It went really well at the Redline TA event. I made some new friends and learned some valuable info that will in turn help my customers.:thumbsup:

Over the past 2 years Ive been getting a constant stream of road racing / time attack customers. To better serve them I decided to start doing some TA of my own.

Ended up with a second place finish, my time of 1min 39.4 sec would have been good for a new track record for my class but first place was .6 second in front of me. That was after the first session, so I had another chance but it decided to rain, so I went out in the rain and had some fun sidewaysOMG

Shootout is next, my Talon will be there for sure!!

hey one more thing bro... how is the back end of the car holding up? i.e. rear end axles etc? have u had and issues with those items? and what do u think is the reason why u went from 75 to 15 passes out the tranny?
