Won't shift into 4th

So I was driving today and went to shift from 3rd to 4th and it will not go into 4th at all. It just grinds and feels like something is binding up. I have checked the cables they are fine clutch is fine I just replaced it has around 500 miles on the new clutch. The weird thing is that when I stop and put it back in 3rd and then drop to 4th it shifts just fine. 1,2,3,5 all work fine too. so does reverse. I'm just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue and could point me into the direction of the issue. Thanks for any info. O yea its a 99 Eclipse RS no mods as of yet I'm just working everything out before I get to any of that.



Update: I checked for clutch drag that is not it. It will shift from 1st to 2nd to third to 5th just fine. It will also shift from 1st to 2nd to 4th to 5th just fine. It just will not shift from 3rd to 4th. I'm wondering if its a sync ring or maybe a bent fork. Any one else have to deal with this or have thoughts on it would greatly be appreciated.

Your clutch could be dragging. Don't force the gears because you could damage some interior parts of your transmission. I'd do a clutch job, and change the fluids but first do a clutch drag test (link below)

I read this article the other day and it blew my mind, Ill never try to force any gear again.

Your clutch could be dragging. Don't force the gears because you could damage some interior parts of your transmission. I'd do a clutch job, and change the fluids but first do a clutch drag test (link below)
