man great lakes is so sticky a guy in a awd subaru spraying w/ a ton of mods could only go low 14's. The track sounds like glue when u go down it it SUCKS!!!
 
Andy my friends are planning on going this sunday(9/12) to great lakes with the drag hatch. It is not for sure though. They are hopping for a nice eleven second time slip. OMG I have to work but I thought I woudl let u know

yeah thats right as soon as i fixed my injectors F.P. Regulator and fuel filter the car runs fine for a few days and now my tranny took a $hit on me last night when my g/f and i were coming back from the kanye west/usher concert on the highway i hit 2nd just fine and then when i got into grafton on the off-ramp i tried downshifting to 2nd but it wouldn't go in i had the clutch in all the way and i would not go so now i have to go from 1st to 3rd and this morning when i tried backing out of my driveway reverse is gone also what the hell so if anyone has a complete 1g turbo awd tranny i would like to buy it off of you i would really prefer a 93-94 tranny so just let me know with all the details like miles if it was rebuilt and whatever thanks

Same shit happened to me. Take it to R&D Transmission its right behind Cedarburg Lumber off Pioneer. They did a sweet ass job and it wasnt to expensive. PM me if you want and I'll get you the dudes name and number...
 
yeah but '90 DSM trannies are the worst i heard. didn't they change it in '91 and again in '93 how much was it and can he double synchro and add better shift forks?
 
I had a complete rebuild with all new parts, my first gear somehow shattered and destroyed almost everything. I think I paid 1200, but I also had them do some axel work, their shit is totaly legit and they did an awsome job, had a leaky axel seal a week or so after and they fixed it same day in like an hour or so. They guy i talked to there was Dwayne and the number is 375-2255
 
I know dynotuned in madison has b20 turbo vtec runs only a 13.5 with drags also. No internals @ 5 psi. dynos at 270whp and has a .44 trim and they say its because the turbo spools to fast also.

Ask Zerofreeze he can vouche on both these cars.



UM YEAH that civic is insane.

I think his new best is 13.3 on drag radials. But one thing matt, he doesnt have lsd.

But seriously, that car is the nuts above 60mph. And he is putting a t61?? (so he says) on there next week. But who knows for sure.
 
So I just got my car from the Chrysler dealer. They suggest a whole new tranny at over $2500. They admit they don't have the tools to do internal transmission work, so if they find a problem, it's automatic replacement. They also say they can't get a remanufactured one, so it has to be new.

The problem...when I am stopped, the car doesn't want to get into 1st gear and frequently pops out when I let the clutch out. If I shift into 1st while I'm still rolling and hold the clutch in until the light turns green, no problems. Also, while downshifting into 2nd, I can feel the shifter move forward slightly like it wants to pop out. Gears 3, 4, 5 and R have no problems.

I don't know much about mechanical stuff, but I was hoping it would be a shifetr adjustment, shifter linkage or synchro problems. I can't believe the whole tranny needs to go.

I went to vfaq.com and saw the shifter adjustment, but that's for a 1g. I have a 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD Turbo. I took the console off and it doesn't appear that there is any adjustment that can be made to the shifter. I read about changing the trans fluid to penzoil Synchromesh and i also read about changing the shifter bushing both under the hood and under the console. Any input on those 2 things?

Anyway, any help would be appreciated. I'm in Columbus, WI...near Madison.

Im on the west side of madison. I just bought my gsx. dropped all my Honda friends when i dropped my honda. now i know like 2 guys with dsms, it kinda sucks, but not so much bc now i waste all my honda friends.

Same shit happened on my 96 GST. Poped out of first once and a while unless you held it in. It ended up being a shot first gear and syncro. I had my entire trans redone with all new internals, so im not sure what it would cost to just get that fixed. My recomendation is to get it done ASAP. I was told that if I had waited any longer the gear would have shattered. PM me if you need more info on this

do a search for John Shepard or Shep racing.

Does tranny rebuilds for 800, that can with stand the punishment. He's located in Ohio, but you can ship. Very good guy, I have met him in person. Alot (like a couple of hundred) of people can vouche for him.
 
shep trannys are the best my bro has one in his 90 awd and swears by it. anyways i was wondering if there is any dsmers around the dubuque area or like within 20 min from dubuque?

Hey man, where are you in columbus? I live there too! Ive noticed a black talon 2g, thats sitting by the anchor bank area for awhile. Is that yours?
 
That's me...I live almost right across the street from the bank on E MILL. I park it on the street due to lack of garage space and not wanting to move it out of the driveway each morning to let my wife out.

I've seen a 1g black talon around town. Usually on Ludington near the gas station/school intersection. I think I've seen a red one recently too. Is the picture in your post your car? My only mod so far is the intake and filter. Got a Dave Brode UIC Pipe and 1G BOV on the way now. I was going to do the turbo back or cat back exhaust before I started having tranny issues. Now the $$ is going into the tranny instead. Exhaust will wait until next year.

Back on topic...AAMCO drove my car and told me they think it's synchro damage requiring replacement to the tune of about $1000 if they find that the gears are ok. If the gears are damaged, it's a tranny rebuild. My neighbor says that Don Ciegelski in Beaver Dam is one of the best transmission guys around so I'm dropping the car off there Monday after work so they can diagnose Tuesday and possibly fix later next week. I was holding onto the hope that it was just the shifter cables/linkage, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
 
That black 1gb is John Franklins. He goes to school with me and is a senior. Im a junior, and I drive the red one in my sig and such.
