WOW i dunno how i didnt find it. there is a widsm website. It just isnt up yet

http://www.widsm.org

we could all get stickers from there :p
then again im not too fond of stickers on cars :-/ hope it's small enough

speaking of selling cars, who wants mine? i dont even need to ship it from africa or anything. I need 11,000 to pay off the truck i bought. So unless someone wants to donate to the "keep WI_99'GST a dsmer fund" and just give me 11,000 that would be cool. look at my gallery

If you ever are cruising by Burlington, You may see my tsi sitting outside of the Cingular store.

The next true WIDSM meet will be held the weekend before Memorial day in the Dells. The group that is putting it on is the WIDSM and WIDSMCHAT yahoo group. (groups.yahoo.com) It is also the same group that owns WIDSM.ORG.

We are the oldest DSM group in Wisconsin and are always encouraging new members to join.

I am from Eagle, WI (used to live in Whitewater) and am always parting out turbo AWD 1Gs. If you need any parts, I have a 90 tsi awd and a 91 GSX I am stripping out right now.

Anyone here know about the benefits/downside to putting a 1G intake manifold on a 2G? I see lots of them on eBay and in the classifides. Are they a simple swap or is there some things necessary that a newbie couldn't do? I would guess they bolt right up.

Thanks in advance.

Jimmy

1G intake manifold flows a substantial amount of air more than the 2G. I think you need to swap the head over as well, I've never just swapped the manifold, its always been with the head as well. You should be able to use the search function and find what you need.

For the next meet in the dells, would a non-turbo be welcome, i would be there to mainly look at the other cars, and have fun in the dells, but i was just wondering if a non-turbo would stain the atmosphere OMG

NO, the 1g manifold won't work. 1g manifold ports are made to match the ports on the 1g head, as goes for the 2g head and manifold. If you put the 1g manifold on a 2g head it would require you to hog out your ports on your head which defeats the purpose of the great port angle the 2g head already has. I hope that made sense. If you want to upgrade your intake mani. get a sheet metal one like a magnus or a custom one. that'll do the job plus some ;)

I assume Avegnce is talking about your car, that is awesome. As for me, I just got back home with the new ride!!!! :thumb:

P.S Anyone near by know how to tune using DSMlink, help would be greatly appreciated.

they have a huge instruction manual you can download off their website in pdf format. Also, i dont know if you bought the dsmlink from them or....you got it when you got the car or something. but when you buy dsmlink they allow you to sign up for their forums, which would probably be the best place for help.

I assume you're talking about locomotion, or automotion, or whatever it's called. 3rd week in may. I've been up there the past 4 years and I never saw a strong dsm presence. I did see a lot of 3kgt's and stealths though. Let me know, I know atleast a couple dsmers from kenosha are going up there this year, plus another 50 or so others I know as well.

Well, i might have a gsx by the time may comes around, so then i'll fit right in. :thumb:

I use the link in my car, if you need help swing by topstreet and I would be more than happy to tell you what I know, plus the owner is extremely experienced with DSMS and AWD tuning.

Do you work at topstreet? Do you have a compatible laptop for DSMlink, the one I have is not doing a good job, the monitor is messed up. Do you think I should just wait for the weather to warm up anyways or what is your sugesstion?
Thanks
Doug

Generally tuning the car around 60 degrees would be preferable, but you can do it at any temp, and just make minor adjustments as necessary.

hey doug I love the new car man :thumb: looks clean... and man what a nice mod list how does that FP 20g pull i am considering a 20g for my 1g ;)
