ok still off the topic but, the 2g head has a better port angle and NO you dont need it for a hardcore race application, like i said a 1g has better cams, intake manifold, TB, replace all that on a 2g and it out flows a 1g considering both are ported, but u cant put a 1g manifold on a 2g head because u would end up hogging out your intake side you would end up dropping the port angle like a half inch or so which ruins flow, but i am doin a bored 1g TB, SMIM, cams and port and such. i also mentioned NO you cant just bolt up a 2g head and expect good results first you need to enlarge the holes for the head studs from 11mm to 12mm, i just need to know a shop around here that is reputable can someone help me

Hey guys this is my first time posting in here even though i've been a member a little while. But i am looking for a 1g awd in or around wisconsin. I have a 90 fwd talon tsi right now but i hate not having traction... will trade or sell. PLMK pm me or check my profile for info. Thanks

Yes, you do use the 2G in hardcore race applications, I know the 1G has a better head assembley, the 2G does NOT outflow the 1G stock to stock as you said before, the 2G has more material like I said, ALLOWING it to outflow the stock 1G IF AND ONLY IF its ported exactly to the car specifications. I didn't mean drop the head on to the car, I meant simply putting it on the 1g block will NOT increase power, it will DECREASE the cars power, stock to stock. Unless you are going for some ridiculous amount of power, most likely over 800 whp, the 1G head ported is an easier, cheaper, and better alternative. If you are going with 2mm over sized valves with the intake side being specifically designed to increase velocity from the Intake manifold, my hat is off to you and best of luck sounds awesome, however if that isnt your goal, you are better off putting the money that the head studs machining will require towards porting the 1G head.

Also the port job required to take the 2G past where the 1G can be ported to is usually over 1000 dollars in labor, then you have to have all the valves reseated, larger valves, yada yada yada.

I'm just wondering if anybody has taken their car to a dyno here in Wisconsin. I searched around on the net and found one shop in Waukesha, called KJ Auto, LLC, that is supposed to have an all wheel drive dyno. I'm in madison, so that isn't too far away. Just wondering if anybody had been there or have any other dynos they recommend. I'm all wheel drive, but if someone can convince me that making my car FWD for dyno purposes isn't too hard, I'd be open to that too.

You can go to Dyno tuned. There in madison. They will convert u to FWD, for dynoing. Its like 150 dollars, for converting and 3 pulls.

KJ Auto is a great place, they are extremely competitive with their pricing, plus the guy who tunes the cars has been building and working on Le Mans style cars for a while, he's extremely reputable and knows what hes talking about. That, and the fact that the Mustang Dyno is ALOT more accurate for power numbers and tuning because of the load aspect of the machine is great. :thumb:

Hey matt what exactly do they do for that $150 for us all wheel guys. I know they convert it to front but what exactly do they do??

Call there shop, or better yet go there your close by being in Waunkee for better info and details on everything.

Im not even sure what he wants($) to convert for fwd anymore. For some reason $150 is sounding right, but I don't want to quote that, then I don't have to hear from Kurt. I probably shouldn't say anything about pricing all togather (my first post or this one). Its Kurts bussiness, and what he charges people. There good people over there (at least from my experiences, and others i've talked too) check it out!

Hi all,

Just fishing here.

About 5 years ago, I lived in Racine. There was a 97 or 98 teal/green Eagle Talon running around there at the time. I saw it parked all the time at a house near the intersection of Hwys 31 and 11 (or maybe 31 and 20). SW corner of the intersection...or maybe a few houses to the west of the intersection on hwy 11 on the south side.

Anyway, I really really liked the rims on it, but I never stopped by to find out what kind they were since it didn't seem likely at the time that I would ever own a Talon.

Well, now I own a black 97 TSi AWD Turbo and I would like to know what kind of rims they were and where they can be purchased.

Does this car belong to anyone here? Anyone in Racine that can run by these areas a few times and see if the car is still there?

Thanks,

Jimmy

yea he said $150 but i'm definately gonna go for a few pulls i think. My friend in waunakee also has a 91 awd so maybe we'll make a day out of it. Thanks.

There pretty generous on pulls. If you have tunning issues, its another story though.

yup thats me it looks like you dont drive it during the winter. if you do we should meet up this weekend or something like maybe a kenosha and racine mini meet

Whats up Wisconsin Crowd? Been a while since I posted on here. Spyder has been in the garage all winter. Anyways, I need a new water pump installed and I was wondering if anyone knew of any place or anyone that would be able to do it for a good price. I have a place right now for 350. Was wondering if I could go cheaper, or is thats going to get as good as it gets? I already have the pump, just need installation. Thanks.

P.S. Located in Menomonee Falls.

You may want to highly consider having the timing belt done at the same time, since the mechanic will already have done half the work to get to the pump.

I drive it usually as long as there's no snow on the ground.
Yeah, maybe, I'll have to see what i got going on this weekend. You hang out w/ Jarvis, Chris, and Ben if I recall right? What's kind of funny is my best friend almost bought that car, but got denied for the loan. I even remember seeing it for sale before JT bought it a few years back. I'll see what's up for the weekend though.

Keep your damn talon! Every time you get one, you undergo a huge project, get it running, and then sell it. You're like an arse backwards mitsu graveyard :p You got the balance shaft eliminator shlt done yet? I want to hear that dump, so I can decide on an O2 housing to oreder and bolt the new turbo up. Weathers slowly warming up :thumb:
