Hey wassup guys i recently bought a 99 rs and the wiring in the engine bay is a NIGHTMARE there's stripped wire's hanging out in random spots. There's connectors hanging around. The fuse box is broken so now i cant mount it down. Wires leading to the ecu are stripped and some other problems too. Is there any website or book or something i can buy to get a wire diagram or pictures of where every connector goes?

NICE thanks alot man i really appreciate it. So now if i just look at the wires of the connector and match the color with the list you found for me i can find out where they go right?

I just took some pics of some connectors and two things which i don't know what they are. The tube i took a pic of leads to the intake manifold. If anyone can identify where the connectors go that would be a big help.

Man that is a mess, do you know anyone with another 420A?
A side by side comparison just might make it visually easier to see where every thing goes.

No i don't know anyone that lives near me. I was hoping maybe someone knows where these go and can maybe take pics of where they are supposed to be.

Neon won't really work.

OK, let me throw you a bone while I'm sitting here in front of the computer (BTW, that is QUITE the mess you got there, LOL).

First pic;
part of your emissions system (your LDP I believe). One of those lines should work its way up to the the throttle body fitting and the other should work its way back to a hard line at the firewall that goes back to the fuel tank etc. If you look on your hood there should be a vac diagram that may help you. That LDP is located in the front area (passenger side) directly behind the bumper (actually not inside the engine bay).

On pictures 2,3,4,5,6;
Hold them up on the "strand" of wires that they are on. I'm pretty sure that those go on the back side of the engine.

Picture 7;
is the least of your problems. That basically is a noise supressor for your radio etc. Oftentimes, I don't even put those back on. But if you wanted to, there is either a spot on the valve cover to bolt it on or a spot on the front of the block (by the and above the starter).

Picture 8;
Is quite the mess, LOL.

Picture 9:
is a blue vac hose that couldn't tell you where it goes. Gotta follow it down and check your schematic on the hood.

This is just from my chair :D

You might want to ask around on 2gnt.com for someone in your area with a 420a.

Kind of off topic but what did you pay for this car?

Suggestion to problem. Go to pull a part etc and just get a new wiring harness. You can pick them up for about 100-200 and this will save you a headache I dont think your ever going to get that harness patched back together.

ummmm first off that whole thing helped me ALOT second of all you really know your dsm's LOL you helped me alot and thanks for taking your time to point everything out. And yea it is a BIG mess i don't think you guys wanna see the interior LOL but it honestly doesn't bother me because i wanted a car to keep me busy over the summer and keep me out of trouble :p

Kind of off topic but what did you pay for this car?

i paid 700 for the car when i got it it had no front bumper rusted brakes and calipers and the whole interior was stripped and has no carpet but i does have a fully built bottom end which is the only brake i had with this car(and i mean only).

he really didn't care about the car when he wanted to sell he pretty much ripped everything out (guage's electronics etc etc) he also melted the o2 sensor harness because he didn't put it far enough away from the turbo. I guess him having a skyline r32 made him not car about an eclipse :(.

Rip the block out and take your loss on the car. Holy F%ck thats a mess on your hands.

Like i said man i bought this car to keep me busy and plus i don't have space to get a shell.
The wiring isn't as bad as it look's if your up close. The wiring that's on top of the engine i already know where that goes and he also relocated the battery to the trunk that's why it also looks a little messy. A couple hours soldering and electrical tape will do the trick. But yea this car wont be running for a little while anyway.:cry:

yo guys i have one more question. you think it would be alright to try and turn the car on?
i have searched the engine bay at least 3 times and couldnt find where they go. it's almost as the guy bought a wiring harness for a gs-t or sumtin and there is a extra 4 connectors.

No, I wouldn't try starting the car until you have all of your wiring squared away.

What are you goals for the car? Is it going to be doing any racing? I'm trying to determine if it would be worth your while to just install a new wiring harness for an aftermarket EMS.

well right now my goals are 300-350hp. the car is going to be a daily driver but you know how it is...

i finally got the answer to my question those wires are for a automatic transmission... but guess ### my tranny is manual :ohdamn: so this guy probably did a auto to manual swap or got a new harness for a auto tranny for some reason :hmm:
