2G wipers stay on?

I have a 1995 eagle talon tsi and the wipers turn on as soon as the car battery is on, regardless of the position of the switch. the wipers still have the faster mode, but wont turn off properly. they also dont return to their resting position, they just stop in place. any ideas?

Have you tried unplugging the switch to see if they stop?

yes we did and it stopped. I’m wondering if a bad switch would also cause the wipers to not return to the off position too? or do I need more than a switch

Bad switch or motor. Mine wouldn't work on the intermittent setting. Figured it was the switch, so I replaced it. No change. Replaced the motor, fixed the problem.

Could be a bad wiper relay also.
