Hey guys, I think I've decided to fix up my 94 Laser RS AWD to use in the winter only that way I can keep my 93 Talon TSI nice and rust free, and can hopefully make it a little more performance oriented too.

The Laser is by no means rough, but does have a little rust starting around the rear wheel wells.

Its a stock rebuilt motor, with an EVO III 16G, 5 spd, 750cc injectors, Walbro 190 and soon to be ECM link. I'm just gonna go with stock suspension, for a little more ground clearance, GR2's and stock springs.

But two things I'm curious about is would the stock SMIC be good for say 15-20 psi (for sure no more than that) keep in mind it will be driven almost exclusively below freezing and average temps here in the winter are more around -5 Fahrenheit.

And also I do have the motor out and was gonna replace the motor mount inserts, but always pictured the aftermarket prothane/urethane ones getting stiff and loud in the cold, would I be better off getting OEM rubber inserts?

Thanks for the help guys.

I would fix up the Laser and keep that nice, and use the Talon for DD, as an AWD Laser is kind of a rare beast. I also would keep the DD completely stock and save the performance upgrades for the non-DD. But that just my .02

As for your questions. 15-20 is starting to push it for the stock SMIC, so a smaller street FMIC would probably be best. Also, I would just stick with stock mounts as the excess vibrations would probably start to get annoying in a DD.

Yeah I think I might just go with oem rubber inserts, although I'm having a hard time tracking them down, on jnz tuning I couldn't find them, and I thought they should cause they have so much oem stuff
