my windshield wipers are just plain faded nasty.
I was going to paint them again to give it a fresh look but i cant take them out. i obviously tried unbolting the bolts holding them but they wont budge i feel like theyll snap if i pull any harder. how the hell do i remove the windshield wiper arm???

Go grab some PB Blaster and for an entire week everytime you get in or out of your car spray that nut thats holding them down. Then after a week of spraying them the nut should back off like nothing, and have patience pulling the arm off the wiper gear.

:dsm:

Wait, sorry i think i misled you.
I actually took off the nuts that go in the stud.
Even with the nut out the arm wont budge.

From what I remember, their the typical splined mount. So once you have the nut off, you will still need to carefully pry the wiper arm off. Also try to apply equal pressure all the way around as just pulling on one side typically doesn't allow them to slip off.

Also, I'd recommend either just getting new arms from the dealer (their not expensive) or have your current ones powder coated. Painting wiper arms never seems to last no matter what you use or how well you prep them.

Let me post some pics. They should help you out.

That's what you're pulling the wiper arm off of once you get the bolt off.

Soak it in pb blaster. When your pulling them off, make sure your pulling it straight and not crooked. I remember I had a pry bar trying to get one of mine off and I felt like it would never come off, but I realized that the prybar was just making it crooked and kind of jamming it. So I went and gently wiggled the wiper arm straight up and it literally popped right off.

I have always done it by folding the wiper up (vertical) and gently rocking it back and forth. I also agree with having them powdered, I had mine done in a flat textured black and they look PIMP!
