Ok the issue I am having is that the serial to usb adapter I got for my palm m105 doesn't work with Vista. When I looked into it further I found some that say they support Vista but don't specify which version. I know the 32bit is different because my wife and I had to purchase a new external hard drive that was compatible with this version. Does anybody know of an adapter that will for sure work with the 32bit version of Windows Vista? If so please point me in the right direction!

The 32-bit version is the normal version of Vista. Is the cable just a DB9 (serial) end on one side and a USB-A (the rectangular USB) on the other end, like this?

If so, there seem to be a few different chip families that these are based on.

Prolific
Most USB-Serial cables sold at computer chain stores seem to be based on this, including Belkin (Staples), Gigaware (Radioshack), and Dynex (Best Buy).

If that first one didn't work, try this one.

Virtual COM Port Drivers

Both of these drivers should work with all these Windows OS:
ME
2000
XP (32 and 64 bit)
Vista (32 and 64 bit)
7 (32 and 64 bit)
