will this transmission fit?

I have a 1999 eclipse rs fwd manual need to install a transmission my buddy has a 1992 eclipse fwd manual transmission in his garage will this fit? Btw we both have the 420a

A 92 FWD should not have a 420a in it. The transmission out of a 92 should be a 4G63 N/A transmission and will not fit your car.

If his car is a 92 he does not have the 420A engine. It's going to be either the 4g63 or 1.8L. I beleive those run mitsubishi transmissions as well, whereas the 420A cars form 95-up got a chrysler-sourced one. They are not the same.

I'm not posistive on that; but the 420A's trans is on the driver's side. This might be an issue with the mounts and such as well.

yeah two way different transmissions. seems like transmissions for the 420a is getting easier to come by for a decent price anymore.
