will this setup provide noticable gains?

i have
-2.5"downpipe
-highflow cat
-2.5"cat back

-drop in k&n

however, my clutch is slipping badly.... so i have an appointment to take my car to buschur's tomorrow and they're gonna put in an act 2100, and a manual boost controller.
i also have a 1g bov coming in the mail.

so all this will be put on my car.. but my question is.. will there be any noticable gains from these mods?

if i raise my boost to say 15 psi will i benefit?

right now my car seems slow as hell.. but like i said my clutch slips like crazy through all gears in high rpm..

thanks

Yea, a clutch would def help you feel if its the engine lacking power, or if its just not sending it to the wheels.

Before you put on the 1g bov and boost controller, make sure you have an accurate boost gauge. When I put the 1g bov on my 2g, my boost went from 13psi to 15psi. Not a big deal, but I still like to know whats goin on. The BOV on the 2g leaks so bad that when I put the MBC on, I couldn't get past 13-14 psi, so I took it off.

I felt a pretty noticeable difference with the 1g BOV @15psi with just intake, and 2.5 catback. I felt even more of a difference with my evo 16g @9 psi, but that may be later down the road for you.

Sounds like your setup would be pretty good once you get the new BOV...only restrictions now are the stock t-25 turbo and the stock UICP

great man.. thanks... I actually have an autometer boost guage.. i just failed to mention it because i didn't consider it a "performance" upgrade..

With that new clutch it should feel like a different car, just remember to follow the break in period before you start beating on it

You will see "gains" but it's not power that your car didn't already have. It's power that has been lost because of the clutch.

6 puck? talk about overkill. A 2100 or 2600 will do just fine. I just recently installed clutch, flywheel, and lsd on my tsi and it's freakin amazing. Its a completely different car, it handles better, gets WAY more traction, and revs much quicker. I actually lost some low end power but i bet it took a lot of time of my 1/4. The powerband is way more linear instead of just crazy power right off the bat.

If you haven't yet bought the 6 puck, don't! An ACT 2600 with a street disk will handle almost anything you throw at it and will be way more streetable while doing it

that aside, would 500 miles be kosher for a 6 puck break in?

Here some information that might be of help. This is directly from RRE Website - http://www.roadraceengineering.com/ecldrivetrain.htm

"ACT clutches use either a 2100 lb or 2600lb pressure pate with a full face high friction organic disc. While there is no increased pedal effort for the 2100 lb clutch, you will need a big left leg for the 2600 lb unit. We like the 2100 lb clutch for stock cars and seldom raced 14 second 1/4 mile cars. It does not put up with much launching or overheating from abuse. The 2600 lb clutch is for guys bent on running 12's and faster. It is much more forgiving if abused but isn't magic. If you try hard enough you can kill it. The 2600 lb is stiff on your left leg, but has little or no chatter and is not grabby.

ACT also makes "Race" discs. Everyone thinks they have a race car, we don't think you do :) If you want a race disc (4 puck or 6 puck) call or e-mail and tell us why you want a broken tranny, heavy chatter, and extreme driveline noise. We will special order a "race" disc for you."

Hope this helps :thumb:
