I was planning on getting a test pipe to replace the cat and get a muffler.

any suggestions or comments?
I don't really have the money to spend on a full 3 inch system.
This setup will cost me around 300$ CDN and the cheapest exhaust sytem I could find was a HKS that was priced for 750$,

which route do u think I should go with?

sorry spelt (exhaust) wrong, keyboard running out of batteries.

I think you will notice a difference in power as well as noise with a test pipe in place of the cat. I would think though, lets say a test pipe costs $75, you could save that money and have an exhaust shop build you a 3" exhaust. If you know anyone with a welder, you could pay them to weld you up an exhaust and all you would need is the piping, hangers, flanges, muffler. HKS is towards the way way too expensive side of exhausts.

I asked around a few shops before and custom making a 3inch exhaust was way too pricey, some guys quoted me for 1400 for full turbo back, and roughly 800-1000 CDN for a 3inch cat back :(
so thats why I was looking for a cheaper alternative, I just want to make my daily driver a bit more fun, future mods are only MAFT setup, some suspension work, and a bit of boost increase.
Don't have too much money to spend ( student loans and all )

Your best bet might be to try to find someone in canada selling a used exhaust or someone here on tuners that could ship it to you. I know people sell their own homemade exhausts pretty cheap whenever they part out a car or get tired of it or go bigger.

Are you serious..wow...that exhaust shop needs to be burned down. The price for the piping & labor should be nowhere near that much. I had an exhaust shop make my 3" catless turboback (I supplied them with the downpipe though), WITH Magnaflow muffler for $200. Ask them to break down the costs of everything so you can see exactly why they're charging so much..unless they charge like 300 bucks an hour for labor :notgood:

man I hate canada... performance parts are so expensive and hard as hell to find for eagle talons, all the shops here stock parts for honda boys and subaru's.

thx for the feedback guys.

don't knock the homeland!
besides, its no different here in the states. DSm shops are few and far between. Where I live nobody knows what talon/eclipse/lasers are.

"I love v8's and coors light!" rings a bell..
